The Botswana Camping Safari starts at 07h30 when you meet your safari guide at a pre-arranged meeting place in Maun.
From Maun we drive south to Hainaveld Game Farm on the northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. Arriving at the game farm we set up our overnight camp in the bush, followed by a safari briefing.
We set off on a nature walk guided by local Bushmen trackers in the afternoon. On the nature walk you will get a closer look at the African bush and gain some insight into the Bushman's detailed knowledge of this untamed area. You will also experience the intriguing culture of these traditional semi-nomadic people on this unique cultural encounter. (L, D)
Please note: This Botswana Safari starts at 07h30 on Day One therefore you are required to spend the night before the safari departs in Maun and purchase drinks for your safari the day before the camping safari starts.
Day 1: Maun –Hainaveld Game Farm (northern border CKGR) : 170km, 4h
On day two we get up at sunrise and venture into the pristine wilderness of the Central Kalahari Reserve, the largest game reserve in Botswana.
We spend the next four days exploring the vast unspoiled wilderness of the northern Kalahari, moving from one wild bush camp to another as we go. As part of our Kalahari adventure we visit the long and attractive Passarge Valley and remote Deception Valley.
In the Kalahari Reserve you will feel the vast tranquility of Africa's open spaces, driving through uninterrupted semi-desert landscapes and camping under wide star-studded night skies at bush camps. Our visit to the Kalahari reveals truly wild Africa as we experience pure adventure camping with limited water and communications. We travel from isolated camp to camp as a self-sufficient group staying in designated campsites with fixed/bush ablutions. (B, L, D)
Day 2: Game Farm in Hainaveld – Central Kalahari Game Reserve: 120km, 6-7h (including game drive)
Days 3-5: Extended game drives
On the last day of our Kalahari & Bushman Botswana Camping Safari we venture back into the Kalahari on a final morning game drive before breaking camp and heading back to Maun. On the last night of this remote African adventure we stay in a comfortable lodge in Maun enjoying dinner at the lodge (own account).

This Botswana Safari starts at 07h30 on Day One therefore you are required to spend the night before the safari departs in Maun, Botswana.

The vehicles used on this Botswana Safari are custom-built game viewing vehicles, designed for safari trips in the African bush. Each safari vehicle carries up to 12 passengers, ensuring excellent visibility on game viewing drives, as well as great movability in the wilderness. Throughout the safari we use a specially designed trailer unit containing a mobile kitchen and space for all of the camping equipment and luggage.
On this semi-participation safari we camp at remote bush sites in 2.1m x 2.1m x 1.75m bow tents that are easy to set up (clients help to put up the tents). All windows and doors of the tents are fitted with treated mosquito netting. Each person will get a 5cm high-density foam camping mattress to sleep on while camping.
The bush ablutions consist of high-slung bucket showers and bush toilets with canvas screens for privacy. Round (200V/2pin) power units are available in the vehicles to recharge cameras and in Maun there are Internet cafes and photoshops that will download digital photos. In Maun we stay in rooms at a comfortable Botswana lodge.
