Summary of this Budget Lodge Safari
This 5-day Botswana Wildlife Adventure starts and ends in Maun, gateway to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve.
Starting with a Mokoro canoe trip into the famous Okavango Delta gliding along reed-lined channels in search of the untamed wildlife and birds of this watery haven.
Next we explore the Khwai River area on an exciting night game drive, followed by a full day of game viewing in the Khwai region inhabited by a variety of large mammals, predators and numerous birds. In the Khwai concession we stay at a unique Bedouin Camp in semi-permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms.
From the Khwai we venture into the diverse and beautiful Moremi Game Reserve for a rewarding day of game viewing before returning to Maun where this Botswana wildlife safari ends.
Itinerary for this Budget Lodge Safari
Day 1: Maun, Botswana
Arriving at Maun Airport in Botswana you will be transferred to your overnight accommodation just outside of Maun.
The lively town of Maun serves as the gateway to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. The first afternoon on this affordable Botswana safari is free for you to relax and enjoy as you please. Stock up on supplies in Maun or enjoy a unforgettable scenic flight over the Okavanago Delta (optional extra for own account).
Day 2: Maun to Khwai River, Botswana BLD
On day 2 of this Botswana wildlife and wilderness safari you will be met by your tour guide.
Leaving our lodge near Maun after breakfast we cover the short distance to a nearby Mokoro (dug-out canoe) station. We then head into the pristine Okavango Delta on traditional Mokoros, being poled along the winding channels by local guides.
Sit back and relax as your Mokoro glides between the thickly vegetated islands of the Okavango Delta keeping an eye out for the variety of birds and wildlife found in this watery wilderness.
Unlike other Deltas in the world, the Okavango flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast, which makes it the largest inland delta in the world. After exploring the untamed delta we make our way to a private concession in the Khwai River area and to our unique Bedouin camp situated just outside the northern gate of the Moremi Game Reserve.
This evening we go on a night game drive in the wildlife concession. We will have the opportunity to spot a variety of nocturnal animals in this wilderness area located between the scenic Moremi and Chobe Park.

Day 3: Khwai River, Botswana BLD
Today we venture into the Khwai area, consisting of lagoons and papyrus-lined channels, dotted with small islands and inhabited by a variety of wild animals.
Our morning and afternoon game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle take us in search of Khwai's varied wildlife.
The Khwai River area is renowned for its superb game viewing boasting high concentrations of big mammals, such as elephant, hippo and buffalo. Predators, especially lion and leopard, as well as cheetah, wild dog and serval are very active in the Khwai area.
This year-round game viewing destination hosts an abundance of birds, in addition to the wide variety of wildlife, with excellent sightings of wildfowl and raptors, particularly seasonal Bateleurs.

Day 4: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana BL
After exploring the Khwai wilderness area we head into the famous Moremi Game Reserve, considered one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa.
The diverse Moremi Reserve, covering central and eastern parts of the Okavango Delta, is home to unprecedented concentrations of wildlife. We spend the whole day game driving in the unspoiled nature of the Moremi Game Reserve.
After our game viewing adventure in the Moremi Reserve, we return to the lively town of Maun.

DAY 5: Maun – End of Tour B
This Botswana Delta, Moremi & Khwai Bedouin Camp Safari comes to an end after breakfast today.
Depending on your time of departure, you will be taken to Maun Airport for your onward journey. We hope to welcome you on one of our African adventures again soon!
Tour Accommodation:
Accommodation is at a unique Bedouin-style bush camp consisting of seven comfortable 3x3m tents with en-suite bathrooms.
Situated in the Khwai River area, a 3 ½ hour drive from Maun, the camp offers visitors a real bush experience surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature.
The secluded safari tents are set under big Acacia trees providing privacy and comfort at the delta bush camp, lit by lanterns at night.
Bathrooms are fitted with flush toilets and proper showers. The tent and bathroom areas are covered with Bedouin-style fly-sheets, for protection from the weather, as well as adding to the safari atmosphere.
Each safari tent is equipped with twin beds, bedding and mosquito screens over the doors and windows.
