Madagascar Sainte Marie Beach Holiday

The island of St. Marie is found off the East coast of Madagascar and is known for its beautiful white sand beaches, coral reefs and dense vegetation. Today the island is a vacation paradise. There are a host of activities to do on the island: visitors can visit a pirates' cemetery, walk among cashew and cinnamon trees, snorkel from the offshore islet, dive from one of the beautiful sandbanks or simply put your feet up and relax on the beach.

From July to September, humpback whales are frequent visitors to the surrounding waters, and exceptional sightings have been recorded. They can be seen everywhere from the island but it is best to take a whale watching cruise and get an up-close look at these magnificent grey giants.

The tour ends back in Antananarivo.

Day 1: Antananarivo – Madagascar

You will be met on arrival at Ivato airport and transferred to your overnight hotel in Antananarivo, where you can relax after your flight and take a swim. Depending on your arrival time, you may be able to ask the hotel if they could do a tour to the handicrafts market (additional expense).

Accommodation: Hotel in Antananarivo (en-suite rooms with hot water and balcony. Restaurant, bar and swimming pool) 

Day 2: St. Marie – Madagascar BD

After a quick breakfast, you will be transferred back to Ivato airport for your flight to St Marie. On arrival you will be met at the airport & transferred to your comfortable Hotel on St Marie Island. With a private beach & pool the hotel offers complete relaxation on this beautiful island. The hotel can arrange many excursions for you from boat tours to different parts of St Marie, to road trips, whale tours (in season) and quad bike tours.

Day 3 to 5: St. Maire – Madagascar B

Days three to five of the Madagascar Sainte Marie Beach Holiday are spent at your leisure.

Ask at reception about the many excursions on offer. The sea is safe for snorkeling, or you could book a few days of scuba diving! Fishing trips may also be arranged, or simply just enjoy a cocktail or two on the beach admiring the hues of sunset. All these excursions are booked in your own time and are to your own expense.

There are many hotels along the main road to offer you variety for dinners or lunches, or you could take a stroll into the small town of Ambodifotatra to explore some boutiques or the local market (Tuesday and Thursday).

Day 6: St. Maire to Antananarivo – Madagascar B

After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the St. Marie hotel and transfer to the airport for your departing flight to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport & transferred to your Hotel in Antananarivo, where you will spend the night in an ensuite room, away from the noise of the city.

Day 7: Antananarivo to Johannesburg – South Africa B

After breakfast at your overnight Hotel, we will transfer you back to Antananarivo airport, where you will check in for your flight home, bringing your relaxing Madagascar Sainte Marie Beach Holiday to an end.
