South Luangwa National Park & Lake Malawi Safari

This 6 day Safari starts in Lilongwe, Malawi and starts off with a visit to Zambia's premier Reserve, the South Luangwa National Park.

The Luangwa Valley consists of 9050 sq km's of unspoiled woodland and riverine vegetation and is home to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. You have an ample opportunity to explore the park during morning and evening game drives which are conducted in open sided 4x4 Game Viewing vehicles.

We journey back to Lilongwe en route to Lake Malawi.The beautiful tropical waters are make for perfect snorkeling and diving whilst the sandy white beaches perfect for chilling out on.

Day 1: Lilongwe, Malawi to Luangwa Valley, Zambia

Meet at the office at 08h30 in the morning. [A free collection service is offered to clients in Lilongwe]. Depart Lilongwe at approx 09h00 in the transfer bus/vehicle. Continue to Mchinji. [1 and 1/2 hour drive] Here we complete immigration formalities and continue to Mwami - crossing the Zambian border. From the border it is a short drive to Chipata - Zambia's capital of the Eastern Province. Proceed on a dirt road to Luangwa Valley - Mfuwe sector. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and arrive at the Lodge in the mid afternoon. On arrival check into your chalets followed by tea and coffee. Dinner is served from 19h30 onwards.

Day 2 & 3: Luangwa Valley – Zambia

After a light snack with tea & coffee we depart for a morning drive at 06h00. All game drives are undertaken in open game viewing vehicles, to optimise your pleasure and experience. Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment whilst game viewing in the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11h00 for a scrumptious "brunch". Take an afternoon rest, swim, tea then we again head out for our afternoon/ night drive at around 16h00 - returning to the lodge at 20h00. Evening Dinner.

Day 4: Lake Malawi – Malawi

This morning after breakfast, we depart to Lilongwe on the transfer bus. A picnic lunch is served en route and we arrive in the city in the mid afternoon, where you will transfer to a smaller vehicle that takes you down to the Lake [1 and half hours drive] Arrive at the beach Lodge in time for sundowners. Overnight in a tented camp on Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 5: Lake Malawi – Malawi

Today is spent relaxing at Lake Malawi. Non-motorized water sports included. Overnight on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 6: Lilongwe – Malawi

After breakfast, we transfer you to Lilongwe in time for your return flight or onward journey.
