Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Trip

The 12-day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach trip starts in the Tanzanian town of Arusha, followed by an overnight stay at a Lake Manyara lodge.

From Lake Manyara the next few days are spent exploring the wildlife-rich Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater passing through the Malanja Depression and Masai villages. The Tanzania safari then takes you to Arusha via Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley, for the flight to Zanzibar Island.

The next five nights of the Tanzania and Zanzibar trip are spent on Zanzibar Island enjoying Zanzibar's beaches and cultural or outdoor activities. The activities on Zanzibar include scuba diving, boat trips to Indian Ocean islands and tours of Stone Town or the Spice and Cultural Tour. Accommodation on Zanzibar Island is in Five Star resorts and hotels on the east coast of Zanzibar Island.

Day 01: Arusha Mountain Village - Tanzania

The Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Trip starts in Tanzania, at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you are picked up and transferred to your hotel in Arusha for the first night. Meal Plan: Breakfast.

Day 02: Arusha to Lake Manyara – Tanzania

On the second day we travel from Arusha to Lake Manyara by road taking an afternoon game drive and stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. In the late afternoon we arrive at the lodge for our overnight stay at Lake Manyara. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner.

Day 03: Serengeti National Park - Tanzania

After breakfast we continue by road from Lake Manyara to the expansive Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge. We go on a game drive en route and overnight in a lodge at the Serengeti. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner.

Day 04: Serengeti National Park - Tanzania

The entire day is spent game viewing in the vast Serengeti National Park on the fourth day. Your choice of hot lunch at the lodge or a picnic lunch will be served and the night is spent at a Serengeti luxury or tented lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch or Lunch, Dinner.

Day 05: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater - Tanzania

In the morning we embark on a game drive in the famous Serengeti National Park, with a picnic lunch stop at Nabi Hill gate. The game drive then takes us through the Malanja Depression, passing through various Masai villages on our way to the renowned Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We arrive at our Ngorongoro lodge in time for dinner and stay overnight. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner.

Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater - Tanzania

After breakfast on day six we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a six-hour game drive in ‘Africa’s Eden’. In the afternoon we visit one of the local Masai villages. We then proceed to Lake Manyara for dinner and an overnight stay at a Lake Manyara lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch & Dinner.

Day 07: From Lake Manyara to Arusha to Zanzibar Island

On day seven of the Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Trip we depart Lake Manyara for Arusha after breakfast, travelling by road via the Great Rift Valley and the African village of Mto wa Mbu.

We arrive at the Arusha airport at about midday for our flight to Zanzibar at 14:00. Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport at 15:45 you will be escorted by car to your beach resort on the east coast of Zanzibar.

You will have a choice of three beach resorts on the east coast of Zanzibar Island, Karafuu Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise Hotel and Sultan Sands. The beach resorts selected are all 5 star establishments with the overnight stay on a half board basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 08: East Coast - Zanzibar Island 

Day eight is spent relaxing on the beach and enjoying your Zanzibar beach resort at leisure. Alternatively you can take a boat ride to an Indian Ocean Island or go scuba diving. Again you have a choice of luxury accommodation at one of three Zanzibar resorts and hotels (Karafuu Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise Hotel or Sultan Sands) at half board. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 09: East Coast Beach  - Zanzibar Island

Spend the day enjoying the beaches of Zanzibar and relaxing at your resort, taking a boat ride to an Indian Ocean Island or going scuba diving.

The overnight accommodation is based on half board at one of three establishments, Karafuu Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise Hotel or Sultan Sands, all of which offer Five Star accommodation. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 10: Zanzibar Island

On the tenth day of the Tanzania and Zanzibar trip you can enjoy the beach at your leisure and unwind at your luxury beach resort. Or you can choose to take a Zanzibar Island excursion touring Stone Town or doing the Spice and Cultural Tour of Zanzibar.

The overnight accommodation is at a 5 Star beach resort, from a choice of three top Zanzibar resorts, Karafuu Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise Hotel or Sultan Sands, on a half board basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 11: Zanzibar Beaches - Zanzibar Island

On the last full day on Zanzibar Island you spend the day on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar and relaxing at your luxury beach resort. The last night in Zanzibar is spent at the Five Star hotel or resort of your choice, Karafuu Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise Hotel or Sultan Sands, on a half board basis. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 12: Beach Resort to Zanzibar Airport - Zanzibar Island

After breakfast on day 12 you will be transferred to the Zanzibar International Airport or harbour, where we bid farewell as your Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach trip comes to a close.
