Botswana Highlights & Vic Falls Safari

This exclusive camping safari takes you to several of the top Game Reserves in Botswana as well as Victoria Falls in Zambia.

Passing through Maun your first destination is Moremi and Savuti,  renowned for some of the best game viewing in Africa. Game viewing in these two reserves will be done in open sided 4x4 Game Viewing vehicles.

We then move to the Chobe National Park, home to some of the largest heards of Elephants in Africa,  you have the opportunity to see these magnificant creatures together with other wildlife from the comforts of a vehicle as well as from a boat during an evening cruise up the Chobe River.

Our last destination takes us to the banks of the Zambezi River where you camp for two days. You get to explore the Victoria Falls - one of the seven wonders of the world and take part in a number of adventure activities including white water rafting and bungee jumping.

The tour ends in Livingstone, on the Zambian side of the Falls.

Day 1: MAUN - BOTSWANA [camping - - -]

Our adventure begins in Maun, a small town located on the South Eastern edge of the Okavango Delta and our access point to the wilderness of Botswana. For the more adventurous of heart there is a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense). The day ends with a relaxing sundowner drink at the pool, and a meal in the lodge restaurant, (own expense) celebrating the start of the journey.

Day 2 - 5: MOREMI & SAVUTI - BOTSWANA [camping BLD]

(B=breakfast, L= lunch, D= dinner)

We have 4 nights in these Botswana conservation areas with time to explore the various wild habitats. We spend our time on game drives watching the plentiful wildlife including wild dog, elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion & other game.

Moremi Game Reserve rates as one of the leading wildlife areas of the world and we take our open 4WD vehicle into Moremi for fantastic game viewing! Grasslands, floodplains, forests, lily lagoons and winding water channels combine to form a variety of game viewing habitats.

Moving north over the sand ridge and into the Mababe depression we arrive at the Savuti Marsh. This open grassland area attracts herds of zebra and wildebeest, which in turn draw the large lion prides for which Savuti is famous. The waterhole near camp is also a favorite drinking point for many elephant and the sunsets here are fantastic.

Day 6 - 7: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK - BOTSWANA [camping Bx2 Lx2 Dx1]

The Chobe River flows lazily along the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park attracting some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. In the early morning on day 7 of the Botswana & Vic Falls Safari, we search for game and return to camp for brunch. The late afternoon game viewing "sundowner" cruise is a highlight as we see the mighty elephant herds returning to the Chobe River to quench their thirst. We camp at Kasane on the Chobe River for night 7.

Day 8 - 9: VICTORIA FALLS / LIVINGSTONE - ZAMBIA [camping Bx2]

We camp for 2 nights in Zambia near Livingstone town on the banks of the Zambezi River on the Botswana Highlights & Vic Falls Safari. Enjoy a spectacular walk through tropical vegetation to the very edge of the "Mosi oa Tunya" or "the smoke that thunders" - Victoria Falls. Opportunities to white water raft on the mighty Zambezi River, bungi jump, or take a "flight of angels" (own expense).

Day 10: TOUR ENDS in LIVINGSTONE - ZAMBIA [- B - -]

The Botswana Highlights & Victoria Falls Safari ends at 08:00 after breakfast. Transfers to local airports are available.

If road conditions in the park prevent us visiting Savuti, then an alternative route will be run via Nxai Pan. (It is possible that this may happen between January - April, but it is subject to rainfall, so only in special circumstances).
