Explore some of the most desolate and beautiful landscapes in Africa including Damaraland, Sossusvlei and the Epupa Falls. Experience the thrill of sand boarding, skydiving and quad biking in Swakopmund and end it all off back in the Capital of Namibia, Windhoek. Itinerary for this Exclusive Budget Safari

Day 1: Windhoek

Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city, which can be visited throughout the year. The day is spent at leisure. We are met by our guide at the hotel reception for a briefing at +-18h00. Hotel Safari (or similar accommodation). (Dinner own arrangements).

Day 2 - 4: Etosha National Park

This Park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa. Thousands of wild animals are attracted to the area. The birdlife is prolific with 326-recorded species.  Early morning and late afternoon game drives are enjoyed with the evenings spent watching an amazing diversity of animals around the floodlit waterhole bordering our campsites. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day 5: Owamboland

We drive through ‘Owamboland', which consists of communal farming land of the Oshiwambo people.  We stop to view a giant Baobab tree that once functioned as a church. Mobile Safari  (All meals)

Day 6: Kaokoland - Epupa Falls

The Epupa Falls are a series of cascades where the Kunene River drops 60m in 1.5km forming a multitude of channels and rock pools.  A variety of birds occur in the area. Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day 7: Kaokoland – Opuwo

During the morning we visit a Himba village to gain a glimpse into their way of life. The Himbas are a semi-nomadic tribe, who live in scattered settlements throughout the region.  We depart Epupa Falls after lunch and arrive in Opuwo, the capital of Kaokoland, in the afternoon. Ohakane Lodge (or similar accommodation) (All meals)

Day 8: Damaraland

An early morning drive takes us to our camp in Damaraland. The changing colours of the surrounding landscapes are enjoyed on a guided walk with explanations of the unique flora and geology of the area. Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day 9: Twyfelfontein - Brandberg

We visit the Twyfelfontein area – a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 2000 rock carvings and walk to view the ancient Bushman rock engravings. We camp at the foot of Brandberg Mountain which is the highest mountain in Namibia. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals)

Day 10: Swakopmund

On our way to Swakopmund, we visit Cape Cross Seal Colony, one of the largest mainland seal colonies in the world. Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia.  Time is spent at leisure to enjoy the charm of this old town or to undertake one of the many optional activities on offer (at own expense). Overnight accommodation in Guest House. (All meals, excluding dinner).

Day 11: Namib Naukluft Park - Gobabeb Research Centre

We spend the morning in Swakopmund to enjoy optional activities or just relax in this small town. After lunch (own account) we depart to the Namib-Naukluft Park. We spend the night at Gobabeb Research Centre which is situated on the Kuiseb River in the central Namib Desert.  In the late afternoon our guide will take us on a nature walk on the dune belt with the opportunity to spot a range of desert-adapted plants and animals. Standard Mobile Safari (Breakfast and dinner only)

Day 12 & 13: Namib Desert - Sossusvlei    

Our journey takes us south to the heart of the Namib Desert.  The following morning is an early departure for Sossusvlei stopping in the dune belt to enjoy the changing colours of the world's highest sand dunes. The morning is spent walking amongst the dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.   En route back to camp we enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon. Mobile Safari (All meals).   

Day 14: Windhoek

We arrive in Windhoek in the early afternoon around 13h00, bringing the Namibia Game, Culture & Adventure 4x4 Safari to a close. (Breakfast only).
