Tanzania Camping and Lodge Safari

This seven-day Tanzania safari combines camping and lodge accommodation in an exclusive budget safari package. This African safari starts and ends in Arusha and visits Tanzania's best safari destinations: Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara - Tanzania (Lunch & Dinner)

The seven-day exclusive budget safari starts with lunch in the scenic town of Arusha in northern Tanzania at 12:30pm. After lunch we set off for the first of our top Tanzania safari destinations, Lake Manyara. We have dinner and stay in a tented safari camp near Lake Manyara overnight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park - Tanzania (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

On day two we go out on a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, after breakfast at the camp. Lake Manyara National Park is a compact game reserve with a high diversity of wildlife, including hippos, tree
climbing lions, monkeys and elephants. Lake Manyara is renowned for its flamingo population and rich variety of other bird species. We stop at the game lodge for lunch and then drive to the world famous Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. On the second night we sleep in a mobile tent camp.

Day 3 and 4:  Serengeti National Park - Tanzania (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Both days three and four are spent making the most of the excellent game viewing opportunities in the oldest and most popular national park in Tanzania - Serengeti National Park. Teeming with wildlife, the Serengeti National Park is the largest game reserve in Tanzania, covering around 14,763 sq km. The Serengeti is best known for the impressive wildlife migration of wildebeest and other herbivores, as well as predators, taking place annually across its vast plains.

For both full days spent on safari in the Serengeti we camp nearby and enjoy meals at the campsite.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Tanzania (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

We drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on day five, stopping in Olduvai Gorge along the way. Olduvai Gorge, also referred to as the Cradle of Mankind is the site of famous archaeological findings, first discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey. The fossils of early man in the steep Olduvai Gorge are considered among the earliest ancestral remains of mankind to date.

From Olduvai we proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we have lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing. In the evening we have dinner at our overnight safari lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Tanzania (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Today's safari adventure takes us to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest volcanic caldera at around 260 sq km.

We descend 2000 ft (over 600 m) into the Ngorongoro Crater to spend an exciting half-day game viewing in this wildlife haven.

It is said that the crater is home to the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa. The vast bowl of Ngorongoro hosts an impressive population of around 25, 000 big wildlife species, including zebra, wildebeest, eland and gazelles, among others.

We explore the forest areas on our Ngorongoro safari to spot the monkeys and elephants found there. We also visit the open savannah area to see lions roaming and stop at the crater's lake area, to take in the magnificent variety of birdlife, including flamingos.

Picnic lunches are served in the Ngorongoro Crater and at the end of the spectacular wildlife safari trip we return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha - Tanzania (Breakfast & Lunch)

After breakfast at our lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater we return to the town of Arusha. The exclusive budget safari comes to an end with lunch in the scenic Arusha.
