This is the ultimate Southeastern African safari adventure.
Visit South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and Moçambique enjoying a host of activities and sightseeing along the way.
Your first port of call is Botswana where you will camp on the banks of the Chobe River.
From Botswana you head over the border to the Adventure Capital of Africa - Victoria Falls. You will be based on the Zambian side of the falls where you will get to partake in a host of optional activities including white water rafting, bungee jumping, elephant back safaris, helicopter flights to name a few. From here you go on a two day canoe excursion on the Zambezi River. Then it's off to do some game viewing at in Zambia's premier park - the South Luangwa National Park.
Finally its time for a rest! You will spend a few days relaxing on the shores of Lake Malawi before stopping in Blantyre, Malawi. From Malawi it's on to Mocambique where it's all about the azure waters of the Moçambique coast and the host of water activities on offer.
To top off this amazing journey we head off the South Africa's famous Kruger National Park for some "Big 5" game spotting, via the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. We end the South Eastern Africa Safari back in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, South Africa.
An African Safari that offers everything!
An early morning departure from our hotel in Johannesburg takes us north where we cross the border into Botswana. (Camping - Lunch, Dinner).
Camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River, an area famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. We enjoy a game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
We travel across the Zambian border to Livingstone from where we may view Victoria Falls - without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. Days are spent at leisure to browse the local markets and experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa. Adventure activities include white water rafting, bungi jumping, microlighting/ airplane or helicopter flights over the Falls, rhino walks, elephant back safaris and visits to the mighty Victoria Falls (own expense). (Camping - All meals excluding 1 lunch & 1 dinner).
Travelling through southern Zambia we set up camp on the banks of the Zambezi River at Kiambi Camp and enjoy the sunset from the deck overlooking the river. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
We board our canoes for a 2-day excursion on the Zambezi River. Whilst paddling downstream with the gentle current of the river, we relax and enjoy the profound sense of peace, tranquillity of the Lower Zambezi Valley. This area is rich in abundant birdlife, as well as being home to a variety of wildlife species that may be seen grazing on the banks of the river. We take a boat back upstream the Zambezi on the afternoon of the second day. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Continuing through Zambia via the capital city of Lusaka our camp is set up near the Luangwa River. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
The ecologically unspoilt South Luangwa National Park is undoubtedly one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. We enjoy watching the wildlife come to drink at the river in front of our camp and an early morning game drive in the 9050km2 park, which is home to numerous predators and species of antelope. The birdlife is a birdwatcher's delight. Optional night game viewing drive (own expense). (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
The lake, with its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and beautiful bays, is surrounded by high rugged peaks and mountains. We set up camp on the lakeshore, swim, suntan and relax for two days. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
The morning is spent enjoying the lake before making our way to Blantyre, the largest city in Malawi. Overnight at a guesthouse (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – Breakfast, Lunch – Dinner own expense).
Entering Moçambique we cross the Zambezi River at Tete and enter the scenic eastern highland mountains with their many scattered traditional African villages. The evening is spent around the campfire enjoying the solitude of our bush camp. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
We set up camp overlooking the azure waters of the Moçambique coast. Days are spent at leisure swimming, simply relaxing on the beach or enjoying one of the optional activities including snorkelling and diving (own expense). In the evenings we sample the local seafood cooked over an open fire. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Crossing the Tropic of Capricorn we travel south to Morrongulu. Our delightful campsite under the coconut palms near the wide deserted beaches, allows us to swim during the day in the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean. From here it is possible to enjoy deep-sea fishing and scuba diving or snorkelling the colourful reefs off the coastline (own expense). (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Travelling inland we enter the newly formed Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park – a joint conservation venture by South Africa and Mozambique. Camp is set up alongside the Massingir Dam. (Camping - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
On the morning of day 21 there is the option of taking a guided bush walk (own expense) in the wild areas surrounding our camp in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. After lunch we cross back into South Africa, entering the famous wildlife sanctuary of the Kruger National Park, one of the oldest game reserves in Africa. The next two nights are spent in the northern part of Kruger Park, at Letaba Camp (or similar), with the last night in the southern section of Kruger, at Lower Sabie Camp (or similar). The diversity of the Park is fully explored on early morning and late afternoon game viewing drives observing numerous wild animals and birds and relaxing at camp during midday. After an early morning game drive we leave Kruger Park and make our way back to Johannesburg where our safari started. Our South Eastern Africa Exclusive Overland Safari ends at about 16h00 in Johannesburg. We hope to welcome you on an African safari adventure again soon. (Breakfast, Lunch).
