5 DAY BEST OF KRUGER & PRIVATE RESERVE BUSH CAMP
SAFARI
PRIVATE RESERVE
This Safari offers a combination of camping in the National Parks rest camps
and camping in the privately owned concessions of the Balule Private Game Reserve.
The Balule Game Reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger National
Park and it is important to note that there are no fences
separating the two reserves
The Balule Game Reserve has only recently been developed and
has already become one of the rising stars amongst the Big
Five private reserves adjacent to the Kruger Park.
Balule presently forms the western boundary of the largest
game reserve in the world : the Transfrontier Limpopo Game
Reserve which includes game reserves in Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
The Balule Reserve is about 45 000 ha in extent and straddles
both sides of the mighty Olifants River. The name " Balule
" is the local Shangaan word for " Buffalo"
and the resident herds are often seen.
The Bush Camp consists of spacious 2 man dome
tents which are equipped with spotless camping mattresses,
sleeping bags and pillows. The Bush Camp boasts a viewing
deck which overlooks a floodlit water hole, a small swimming
pool and a bush boma where you dine under the African night
sky. The camp is fenced for your protection and guides and
camp staff are never too far away to assist you in any way.
Activities at the Bush Camp include invigorating bush walks
and morning and night drives in specially designed safari
vehicles.

Itinerary:
Days 1 & 2: Johannesburg – Kruger National Park
Your safari arrangement starts at 9h30 this morning with
a transfer from Johannesburg International Airport in an air-conditioned
shuttle to your rest camp in the Kruger National Park. You
should also have time this afternoon for a short game drive,
and the chance to see some of the wildlife for which the park
is internationally renowned. Upon returning to your campsite,
there is time to freshen up before enjoying drinks around
the campfire.
The evening continues with a delicious and wholesome dinner,
prepared for you by an experienced safari chef. Your guides
will entertain you with fascinating tales about their culture,
and the natural history of the park on your Kruger National
Park safari. Your days at Kruger National Park are spent on
extensive game viewing activities, with 3 – 4 hour game
drives every morning and afternoon and ample time to relax
and enjoy the area.
Days 3 & 4: The Bush Camp
This morning after a steaming cup of coffee / tea and
rusks (biscuits), you will leave camp for an early drive through
the Park, to The Bush Camp, where you will spend 2 nights.
This drive will introduce you to a different part of the Park,
as the vegetation, and thus game changes as you move north
in the Park. Brunch is served en route at a picnic spot. Here
you will have a chance to stretch your legs.
Your arrival at The Bush Camp in a Private Game Reserve is
scheduled for the late afternoon where light snacks are served.
The campsite has a viewing deck, which overlooks
a spot lit waterhole. The waterhole is popular with local
wildlife, and you may want to spend some time of your Kruger
National Park safari just watching the comings and goings
at the waterhole.
There is time to freshen up before the evening drive. A night
drive is a unique opportunity to see the more nocturnally
active species on your Kruger National Park safari. Upon your
return to camp, dinner will be waiting. Your days will be
filled with exciting game viewing activities of your choice:
bush walks / game drives / night drives.
Day 5: The Bush Camp – Johannesburg
This morning you will wake up to an early breakfast and prepare
for your transfer, through the Kruger Park to Johannesburg.
This is unfortunately the last game activity of the safari,
but it gives you the opportunity to see some of the animals
you might have missed.
Please Note: This itinerary also
allows you the option of flying from / to Johannesburg International
Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Please
request a quote.
