Itinerary:
Day 1 Upington, South Africa
Departing from Johannesburg or Cape Town we make our way to Upington and camp on the banks of the Orange River. (D)

Day 2 Fish River Canyon, Namibia
Namibia is a place of breathtaking natural beauty. Our journey takes us to the mighty Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world! Evening to be spent at a campsite near to the Canyon. (BD)

Day 3 Aus, Namibia
Departing the Canyon, we make our way to Aus. We set up camp at Klein Aus, a farm set amongst the rocky hills and explore the area on foot. We spend the afternoon on an excursion to find the wild ‘desert horses’. (BD)

Days 4 and 5 Sesriem, Namibia
An early rise as we depart from Aus and head for Sesriem, situated on edge of the vast Namib Desert. Our time is spent visiting the Sesriem canyon and the world famous dunes of Sossusvlei. Sunset over the dunes is an unforgettable experience. (BLD)

Days 6 and 7 Swakopmund, Namibia
We journey through the Namib-Naukluft Park to Swakopmund. In this desert oasis town our time is spent relaxing on the beach and enjoying the various optional adrenaline activities that the area has to offer. (B)

Day 8 Cheetah Farm, Namibia
We head inland to our overnight stop at the cheetah farm where we enjoy close encounters with these endangered felines. (BLD)

Days 9 and 10 Etosha, Namibia
Centered on the Etosha Pan, this spectacular Park is home to large populations of animals and birds. Our days are spent game viewing, while the evenings are spent relaxing around the campfire or spotting game at the floodlit waterholes on the edge of the camp. (BLD)

Day 11 Windhoek, Namibia
We head south to the capital city of Windhoek, where you can buy crafts and artifacts from the San and Herero people. (B)

Day 12 Ghanzi, Botswana
Crossing into Botswana we arrive in the town of Ghanzi, an area well known for the San or Kalahari Bushman that inhabit this area. The San are the oldest hunting and gathering society known to man. Today there are less than 100,000 San left in Southern Africa. The Kuru Cultural Centre was founded in 1991 to work alongside the Kuru Art Project for the preservation and promotion of the Bushman culture. Over the past years, the centre has proven to culturally empower the San people in the region. The Cultural Centre has activities including the traditional Bushman Dance Festival. Our time is spent gaining insight into the lives of these unique people. We overnight in the D'Kar village camp. (BLD)


Days 13, 14, 15, and 16 Okavango Delta, Botswana
After a truly memorable experience, we head to Maun, the gateway of the Okavango Delta. We spend the evening in Maun before heading into the Delta the following day. Aided by local guides, our time is spent exploring the pristine wilderness of the Delta in Mokoros (dug out Canoes) and exploring the area on foot. We set up camp on an island in the Delta and enjoy the tranquil African bush. On the last day we return to Maun. (BLD)

Day 17 Chobe National Park, Botswana
We camp on the banks of the Chobe River. Time is spent relaxing or enjoying an optional river cruise.

Day 18, 19 and 20 Livingstone (Victoria Falls), Zambia
An early rise as we venture out on an open vehicle game drive into the Chobe National Park. Crossing into Zambia by ferry, we set up camp in Livingstone and head out on a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi. The days are spent at your leisure, taking in the stunning scenery of Victoria Falls or braving the many adrenaline activities on offer. (BD)

Day 21 Luangwa Bridge, Zambia
Heading north through rural Zambia, we spend the night at Luangwa Bridge. (BLD)

Day 22 Lilongwe, Malawi
We make our way through Zambia into ‘the warm heart of Africa’, Malawi. We spend the afternoon exploring the colourful and vibrant markets of Lilongwe, experiencing the cultural blend of ancient and modern Africa. (BLD).

Day 23, 24 and 25 Lake Malawi, Malawi
Setting up camp on the shores of Lake Malawi, our time is spent exploring this large fresh water lake. Snorkelling and scuba diving the lake gives us an opportunity to discover the 500 species of colourful tropical fish. Meeting the locals will remind us why Malawi is the Land of smiles and laughter. Day 26 Blantyre, Malawi
After breakfast, we head to Blantyre, named after the birthplace of David Livingstone, the town is the crossroads to Mozambique. (BD)

Day 27 Chimoio, Mozambique
We cross into Mozambique, which has largely stayed untouched by modern day development, giving the traveller an opportunity to escape from the beaten track. We set up camp in the small town of Chimoio. (BLD)

Days 28, 29 and 30 Vilanculos, Mozambique
Vilanculos is a tropical paradise set in unspoilt beaches of sea, sun and white sands. This area has world-class beaches washed by the Indian Ocean’s warm waters. Take an optional trip to the Bazaruto Islands to snorkel, do a water-based activity, or simply relax on the beach. (BD)

Days 31 and 32 Inhambane / Tofo, Mozambique
Travelling south down the coast to Inhambane, we set up camp in the coastal village of Tofo. Time is spent at your own leisure, sipping cocktails at one of the many beach bars, walking along the long white beaches, deep-sea fishing, quad bike trails or scuba diving for the more energetic. (BD)

Days 33 Maputo, Mozambique
Leaving the peace and tranquillity of the beach behind, we continue onto the bustling capital city, Maputo, where we have the afternoon to explore this city and its rich cultural history. With its attractive tree-lined avenues, it has a unique European feel as well as some great local restaurants. (B)

Day 34 and 35 Kruger National Park, South Africa
We head off to the famous Kruger National Park. Our time is spent on game drives, searching for the Park’s wide diversity of game. In the evenings, we camp inside the Park, listening to the sounds of the wild and enjoying the tranquillity of the African bushveld. An optional night drive can be organised. (BD)

Day 36 Johannesburg, South Africa
We enjoy our final game drive before driving back to Johannesburg. (B)
