Days 7 & 8 Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique
Today we cross into Mozambique, which has largely stayed untouched by modern day development, giving the traveller an opportunity to escape from the well-trodden trail. Our journey takes us to Gorongosa National Park in Central Mozambique, which represents one of the great conservation opportunities in the world today. Gorongosa is a region of high species diversity and ecological features found no where else. The 4,000 square kilometer Park is located at the southern end of the Great East African Rift Valley. The region as a whole and the National Park are named after Gorongosa Mountain and reaching the summit of the mystical Gorongosa Mountain is like stepping through a portal into a hidden world. Our time is spent exploring this area on hikes as well as optional 4x4 game drives. NB. Itinerary may vary in rainy season due to impassable roads (December – March) (BLD)

Days 9 & 10 Vilanculos
Vilanculos is a tropical paradise set in unspoilt beaches of sea, sun and white sands. This area has world-class beaches washed by the Indian Ocean’s warm waters. Take an optional trip to the Bazaruto Islands to snorkel, do a water-based activity or simply relax on the beach. (BD)

Days 11 and 12 Inhambane / Tofo, Mozambique
Travelling south down the coast to Inhambane, we set up camp in the coastal village of Tofo. Time is spent at your own leisure, sipping cocktails at one of the many beach bars, walking along the long white beaches, deep sea fishing, quad bike trails or scuba diving for the more energetic. (BD)

Days 13 Maputo, Mozambique
Leaving the peace and tranquillity of the beach behind, we continue on to the bustling capital city of Maputo where we have the afternoon to explore this city and its rich cultural history. With its attractive tree-lined avenues, it has a unique European feel about it and it has some great local restaurants. (B)

Days 14 and 15 Kruger National Park, South Africa
We make our way to the famous Kruger Park where the scenery and wildlife will leave you in awe. Our time is spent on game drives searching for the wide diversity of game that make this park so famous.
