local payment is paid in cash on departure.

This trip leaves from Johannesburg or Cape Town. Clients
departing CPT will board an Intercape bus to Upington and
meet the group on Day 2 (booked and paid for as part of your
tour cost). More details are supplied on booking.

WHAT IS PROVIDED All ground transportation,
services of experienced qualified driver / guide, camping
equipment (2 person dome tents, mattresses, cooking equipment),
all highlights, meals, entrance fees & accommodation per
itinerary.
NOT INCLUDED All visa costs are the clients
responsibility, travel insurance, flights, departure taxes,
sleeping bags, items of a personal nature, drinks, optional
activities.
PARTICIPATION Participation safari - clients
to erect their tents and help with cooking, washing dishes
and vehicle cleanliness.
NOTE The day-to-day schedule for this trip
is approximate only and may later change due to unforeseen
difficulties (e.g. problems with roads, vehicles, borders
etc).
Itinerary:
Day 1 Cape Town or Johannesburg to Upington South
Africa
We make our way up to Upington to begin our adventure. (D)
Day 2 Fish River Canyon Namibia
We cross into Namibia to Fish River Canyon - the second largest
canyon in the world. (BD)
Days 3 & 4 Aus / Luderitz Namibia
We visit Kolmanskop, the 'ghost town', Luderitz, and Aus,
optional activity to view penguins (BD)
Days 5 & 6 Sesriem Namibia
The scenery and the colours at Sesriem will leave you breathless.
We also visit the dunes of Sossusvlei, the highest in the
world. (BLD)
Days 7 & 8 Swakopmund Namibia
Entering the Namib-Naukluft Park the lunar landscape appears.
In Swakopmund, you can enjoy the beach, visit a seal colony,
go sea fishing, quad biking or sand boarding on the dunes.

Day 9 Cheetah Farm Namibia
We head north to the Cheetah Farm for a unique wildlife experience.

Days 10 & 11 Etosha Namibia
We enjoy game drives in the park and spend our nights at the
amazing waterholes, watching the animals that come to drink.

Day 12 Windhoek Namibia
We spend the night in the capital city, Windhoek. (B)
Days 13-16 Maun/Okavango Delta Botswana
Maun is our base for the two-day excursion into the Okavango
Delta, where we explore the waterways by mokoro and search
for game on game walks. There is an optional game flight over
the Delta. (BLD)
Day 17 Chobe National Park Botswana
Camping on the banks of the Chobe River. Time is spent relaxing
or enjoying an optional river cruise. (BD)
Days 18,19 & 20 Livingstone (Victoria Falls) Zambia
We venture out on an open vehicle game drive into the Chobe
Park. Crossing into Zambia by ferry, we set up camp in Livingstone
and head out on a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi. Time
is spent at you leisure, taking in the sunning scenery of
Victoria Falls or braving the many optional activities on
offer. (BD)
Day 21 Luangwa Bridge Zambia 
Heading north through rural Zambia, we spend the night at
Luangwa Bridge. (BLD)
Day 22 Lilongwe Malawi
We make our way through Zambia into 'the warm heart of Africa',
Malawi. We spend the afternoon exploring the colourful and
vibrant markets of Lilongwe, experiencing the cultural blend
of ancient and modern Africa. (BLD).
Day 23, 24 & 25 Lake Malawi Malawi
Setting up camp on the shores of Lake Malawi, our time is
spent exploring this large fresh water lake. Snorkelling and
scuba diving the lake gives us an opportunity to discover
the 500 species of colourful tropical fresh. Meeting the locals
will remind us why Malawi is the Land of smiles and laughter

Day 26 Blantyre Malawi
After breakfast, we head to Blantyre, named after the birthplace
of David Livingstone, the town is the crossroads to Mozambique.

Day 27 Chimoio Mozambique
We cross into Mozambique, which has largely stayed untouched
by modern day development, giving the traveller an opportunity
to escape from the beaten track. We set up camp in the small
town of Chimoio. (BLD)
Days 28,29 & 30 Vilanculos Mozambique
Vilanculos is a tropical paradise set in unspoilt beaches
of sea, sun and white sands. This area has world-class beaches
washed by the Indian Ocean's warm waters. Take an optional
trip to the Bazaruto Islands to snorkel, do a water-based
activity, or simply relax on the beach. (BD)

31 & 32 Inhambane / Tofo Mozambique
Travelling south down the coast to Inhambane, we set up camp
in the coastal village of Tofo. Time is spent at you own leisure,
sipping cocktails at one of the many beach bars, walking along
the long white beaches, deep sea fishing, quad bike trails
or scuba diving for the more energetic (BD)
Days 33 Maputo Mozambique
Leaving the peace and tranquillity of the beach behind, we
continue on to the bustling capital city, Maputo, where we
have the afternoon to explore this city and its rich cultural
history. With its attractive tree-lined avenues, it has a
unique European feel as well as some great local restaurants.

Day 34 & 35 Kruger National Park South Africa
We head off to the famous Kruger National Park. Our time is
spent on game drives, searching for the Park's wide diversity
of game. In the evenings, we camp inside the Park, listening
to the sounds of the wild and enjoying the tranquillity of
the African bushveld. An optional night drive can be organised.

Day 36 Johannesburg South Africa
We enjoy our final game drive before driving back to Johannesburg.

Meals included are camp meals prepared by your guide with
your assistance. On days where lunches are not included we
stop at places where you can buy food at a reasonable cost.
CAMPSITES
We stay in a variety of campsites, from basic facilities only,
to ones with restaurants, swimming pools, bars etc. All campsites
have shower and toilet facilities, although it is advisable
to bring a small supply of your own toilet paper.
VEHICLES & GROUP SIZE
We utilize either a minibus that seats a maximum of 9 passengers
or a custom built safari vehicle which seats a maximum of
16 passengers.
The vehicles do not have air conditioning, but do have opening
windows. The night drive is done in an open vehicle.
EQUIPMENT
You will be provided with the following equipment:
• 2 - person dome tent. These tents are very easy to
put up and down.
• The tents have mosquito netting over the entrances.
You may choose to bring your own mosquito netting if you wish.
• If travelling on your own you may share with another
single person of the same sex.
• Mattress
• All cooking equipment for the group and utensils etc.
• Camping stools.
• Sleeping Bags may be hired for R50 per tour. Please
notify us in advance if you will require one.
WHAT TO BRING
For comfort reasons luggage is limited on each trip to 1 backpack,
1 small daypack, sleeping bag and camera per person. Soft
Bags only may be used (i.e.: no suitcases) We provide you
with your tent, sleeping mat and cooking equipment.

PARTICIPATION
Our tours are based on client participation and as an active
member of the group, everyone helps out with the running of
the tour, e.g. Making campfires, cooking, setting up camp,
dishes etc. It's all part of the African experience. Remember
the more you put in, the more you get out!
MONEY OUTSTANDING
Your money will collected in cash by your driver at the point
of departure. Please note that Local Payments cannot be paid
by credit card and must be paid in cash.
ONWARD TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Due to unforeseen problems we recommend onward travel arrangements
be made only for the day after the tour ends. If arrangements
are made for the same day the tour ends, we cannot be held
responsible for any delays; you will have to take the risk
yourself. If you are making further bookings for busses, trains
or flights the day the tour ends we strongly recommend you
make them the latest time possible and that you inform African
Budget Safaris or the tour guide at the beginning of the tour.
