If you are overnighting in the Zulu Village, this
will definitely broaden your horizons, but it's not for the
average traveler, as you will experience daily living as it
is in a Zulu Village.
As the day starts off you are taken to visit the traditional
healer ”Sangoma” and the visit to houses will
demonstrate basic living. The overview of marriage and traditions
will be discussed throughout the day. In the afternoon a traditional
meal and is served, then time for the children to show you
their dancing skills and be sure you will be dancing and singing
by the end of it. Traditional beadwork is available for purchase
and as the evening unfolds you will be introduced to your
host family to drop off your bags and then head out for a
night in the village. Partake in activities such as a visit
to the local Shebeen “informal drinking house”,
sometimes a bit of night fishing or just spend time with the
family and children. The evening dinner is normally chicken
and vegetables. Breakfast is egg sandwiches and tea. If you
are vegetarian please ensure the guide and company are aware
of it to ensure the family has the necessary requirements.
Our projects have been around for many years and families
are aware of the needs of foreign travelers. A family member
would normally have a good command of the English language.
