ACCOMMODATION Camping in 2 person dome tents, mattresses provided

WHAT IS PROVIDES All ground transportation, services of experienced qualified driver / guide, camping equipment (2 person dome tents, mats, cooking equipment), all highlights, meals, entrance fees & accommodation per itinerary.

NOT INCLUDED All visa costs are the clients responsibility, travel insurance, flights, departure taxes, sleeping bags, items of a personal nature, drinks, optional activities.

PARTICIPATION Participation safari - clients to erect their tents and help with cooking, washing dishes and vehicle cleanliness.


Itinerary:
Day 1 Central Kruger Park South Africa
Departing from Johannesburg we travel east through the highveld farmlands to the Mpumalanga Province. Heading, for the world-renowned Kruger National Park, we enter through one of the central entrance gates. After settling into our camp, we venture out on our first exciting game drive. We return to camp at sunset, to freshen up and head out on an open vehicle night drive accompanied by Kruger Park Rangers. We then enjoy a hearty dinner and relax around the log fire, listening to the sounds of the African night. (D)

Day 2 Northern Kruger Park South Africa
An early rise, we start the day with coffee and rusks before venturing out on a morning game drive. Breakfast is to be served at one of the picnic sites. Most of the day will be spent game viewing, bird watching and stopping at the various water holes en-route to our northern camp. Arriving at our camp at sunset, we settle down for a traditional "braai" (barbeque) for dinner and relax around the campfire. (BD)

Day 3 Great Zimbabwe Zimbabwe
Up at daybreak, we go on our last game drive in the Kruger Park, before heading towards the border post at Beitbridge and into Zimbabwe. We then make our way to the town of Masvingo and the sight of the Great Zimbabwe Monument. We overnight at a campsite in Masvingo. (BD)

Day 4 Chipengali Wildlife Orphanage Zimbabwe
After breakfast, we take a guided walking tour of the mysterious archaeological site known as the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. We then depart for Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo and spend the afternoon on a tour of the Chipengali Wildlife Orphanage. We overnight in Bulawayo. (BD)

Day 5 & 6 Victoria Falls Zimbabwe
Departing Bulawayo after breakfast, we head for Victoria Falls. We arrive in time to set up camp and relax, before heading out on a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Sundowner drinks and snacks to be enjoyed on board. After dinner, we venture out to explore the nightlife of Victoria Falls. Time is spent at your leisure over these two days. Activities include White River rafting, bungy jumping, a canoeing safari, or even the flight of the angels over the falls. We spend one evening out on the town enjoying a traditional meal at one of the local restaurants (own expense). (B)

Day 7 Chobe Botswana
This morning we explore the magnificent Victoria Falls before venturing out for the Kazangula border post and into Botswana. We set up camp on the edge of the Chobe National Park, where you have the option to relax or enjoy some great game viewing on a Chobe River Cruise. (optional) (BD)

Day 8 Nata (Makgadikgadi Pans) Botswana
We venture out into an open 4x4 vehicle to explore the Chobe National Park, home to some of the largest herds of migratory elephant in Africa. After brunch, our journey takes us south to the edge of the famous Makgadikgadi Pan, where you have the opportunity of an optional trip to the fascinating pans. The evening is to be spent camping at Nata Lodge. (B D)

Day 9 Johannesburg South Africa
An early rise, we enjoy coffee and rusks before departing for Martin's Drift border post, we have breakfast en-route, then onto the final stretch to Johannesburg. (B)

Included in the tour cost are the following meals:

Your guide prepares meals with your assistance. On days where lunches are not included we stop at places where you can buy food at a reasonable cost.

CAMPSITES
We stay in a variety of campsites, from basic facilities only to ones with restaurants, swimming pools, bars etc. All campsites have shower and toilet facilities, although it is advisable to bring a small supply of your own toilet paper.

VEHICLES & GROUP SIZE
We utilize either a minibus that seats a maximum of 9 passengers or a custom built safari vehicle which seats a maximum of 16 passengers.
The vehicles do not have air conditioning, but do have opening windows. The night drive and Chobe game drive are done in an open vehicle.

EQUIPMENT
• We provide you with the following equipment:
• 2 - person dome tent.
• The tents have mosquito netting over the entrances.
• Mattress
• All cooking equipment and utensils.
• Camping stools.
• Sleeping Bags may be hired for R50 per tour (Please notify us in advance if you will require one).

WHAT TO BRING
For comfort reasons luggage is limited on each trip to 1 backpack, 1 small daypack, sleeping bag and camera per person. Soft Bags only may be used (i.e.: no suitcases)

PARTICIPATION
Our tours are based on limited client participation and as an active member of the group; everyone helps out with the running of the tour, e.g. making campfires, its all part of the African experience. Remember the more you put in, the more you get out!

ONWARD TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Due to unforeseen problems we recommend onward travel arrangements be made only for the day after the tour ends. If arrangements are made for the same day the tour ends, we cannot be held responsible for any delays; you will have to take the risk yourself. If you are making further bookings for busses, trains or flights the day the tour ends we strongly recommend you make them the latest time possible and that you inform African Budget Safaris or the tour guide at the beginning of the tour
