Itinerary:
Day One:
We collect our clients from all hotels, guesthouses and private
homes in Gauteng as well as from the Johannesburg International
Airport. We travel via the Highveld farmlands to the picturesque
Lowveld and onwards to our Game Lodge, in the Balule section
of the Kruger National Park. After a short break, during which
you may unwind at the bar, enjoy a refreshing dip in our sparkling
pool and relax in the beautiful tropical gardens, we board
the open Landcruiser for a Sunset Drive. Your guide
will facilitate your first exciting opportunity to experience
the varied fauna and flora of Africa. Watch the magnificent
African sunset and, after darkness falls, use spotlights to
locate nocturnal animals. Dinner in the boma will be a traditional
South African meal. Overnight in comfortable, air-conditioned
en suite thatch-roofed chalets.
Day Two:
Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger, where we transfer to a
custom-built open-sided Gameviewer. The open vehicle allows
for a total wildlife opportunity - exceptional sight, sound
and scent experiences. You will not only have an amazing chance
to view game but also to listen to and smell the African bush
and its denizens. The absence of windows and your elevated
vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities.
We have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places
of interest.
The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions have open plains that support
large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous
predators. In fact, this zone has the highest concentration
of lions in Africa.
Day Three:
After breakfast, visit Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation
Centre for orphaned, injured and abandoned animals. Enjoy
close-up encounters with birds of prey and large carnivores.
After lunch, we drive to Orpen Gate from where Kruger Park
rangers drive to a remote area for a 3 hour game walk. We
examine signs of the wild, interpreting scats and spoor. The
thrill of tracking and closing in to photograph Africa's big
game is an experience you will never forget !
Day Four:
Another fun-filled day of game-viewing and bird-watching in
one of the greatest Game Reserves in the world. Your guide
will drive to a different part of Kruger and use intimate
knowledge of the Park in an attempt to show you the Big Five.
We shall make every effort to find any animals that have eluded
us thus far, hoping to produce that unforgettable wildlife
highlight.
Day Five:
Enjoy an early morning bush walk with our armed ranger. The
signs of elephant are everywhere - expect an adrenalin surge.
After a hearty breakfast , there is an opportunity to purchase
some memorabilia from our shop and take photos of the luxuriant
lush gardens. We then drive to the awesome Blyde River Canyon
and view scenic wonders such as God's Window and the Three
Rondawels. We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon. Airport
dropoff by arrangement.
