Itinerary:
Day 1 Cultural Village South Africa
Departing Johannesburg early, we spend the day visiting the
sights along the Drakensberg panoramic route, including Gods
Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the magnificent three rondawels
at the Blyde River Canyon. From here we journey on to the
Shangaan Tribal Village where a guided tour gives you an insight
into the culture and traditions of the local Shangaan people.
We enjoy an exciting evening of tribal dancing, singing and
tasting of traditional African food. Overnight in traditional
huts. (D)
Day 2 Kruger National Park South Africa
Leaving the Cultural Village, we head for the Kruger National
Park. Here we begin our search for the many species of birds,
mammals and reptiles that inhabit the Park. This Park is home
to 150 species of mammal, including cheetah, leopard, lion,
spotted hyena, wild dog, black rhino and elephant. Our game
drive takes us to our campsite, where we board an open safari
vehicle and head out on a night drive. We camp for the night
at a rest camp within Kruger. (BLD)
Day 3 Kruger Park South Africa
Our game drives take us through Big Five territory. Sunrise
at a water hole gives us the best chance of seeing a 'kill'.
Stopping for lunch, we then spend the afternoon on game drives,
until arriving at our rest camp in the late afternoon. (BLD)
Day 4 Polokwane South Africa
We depart on an early morning game drive before heading towards
the town of Polokwane, which is at the centre of a series
of towns established by the Voortrekkers. We camp here for
the night en route to Botswana. (BD)
Day 5 Nata Botswana
Leaving South Africa, we cross into Botswana. This vast, thinly
populated country is one of Africa's economic success stories
due to its mineral wealth. After changing money into local
currency, we continue to Nata where we camp on the edge of
the Makgadikgadi Pans. (BD)
Day 6 Livingstone (Victoria Falls) Zambia
Rising early, we head through the Chobe District, where it
is common to see migratory elephants along the roadside. We
then cross into Zambia via the Kazangula ferry. Arriving in
Livingstone, we visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World
- the Victoria Falls. Afternoon to be spent on a sunset cruise
on the mighty Zambezi River. (BD)
Day 7 Livingstone (Victoria Falls) Zambia
This final day is open to enjoy the many activities available
in this adrenalin capital of Africa. (B)
