7 DAY MALAWI HIKING EXPERIENCE
Discover the beauty of Zomba Plateau, spend time ambling
through its nature trails and visiting waterfalls or hike
to the many viewpoints enjoying the fabulous scenery of the
forest, waterfalls and lakes. Experience the stunning views
and challenging slopes of the impressive Mulan je
Mountain. Hiking here is very rewarding for those who like
a little challenge. After conquering Mulanje unwind in the
wilderness of Liwonde National Park. Spend time searching
for the game in Malawi's finest game park or relax and join
a boat safari in the hippo infested waters of the Shire River
and spot elephant, waterbuck, sable and an occasional lion
amid the beautiful African Bush.

Price includes:
Transport in comfortable safari vehicles; dedicated crew including
an experienced driver/guide and cook; accommodation in mountain
huts and spacious tents supplied with mattresses (based on
two people sharing); three meals per day; games drives operated
by us; Liwonde NP entrance fees; porters for shared equipment
and guides for Mulanje trek.

Boat Cruise, Walking Safari or Night Drives in Liwonde National
Park. Porters for personal baggage for Mulanje trek
Itinerary:
Day 1 (Monday)
Drive to the breathtaking Zomba plateau, where we set up camp
and spend the afternoon exploring the pine forest and enjoying
the spectacular vista. Relax for the first evening at the
camp or having a sundowner at the nearby beautiful Kuchawe
Inn. Dinner is served around the campfire.
Day 2 (Tuesday)
Spend the day discovering the delights of Zomba plateau. Hike
to the many stunning viewpoints enjoying the fabulous scenery
of the forest, waterfalls and lakes. For those who may wish
to explore the plateau in a less active way a trip in our
safari vehicle can also be arranged.
Day 3 (Wednesday)
Early morning departure to the impressive Mulanje mountain.
Hike from Likabula Forest Station to Chambe Hut. Spend the
night in the hut and enjoy a simple dinner, cooked on the
fireplace in the hut.
Day 4 (Thursday)
Enjoy the amazing changing scenery, the waterfalls and valleys
as we hike from the Chambe hut to CCAP hut.
Day 5 (Friday)
Early morning departure from CCAP hut back to the Likabula
Forest Station. Leaving Mulanje behind we then drive to Blantyre,
the commercial and industrial capital of
Malawi stopping for lunch along the way. The afternoon can
be spent exploring the cities vibrant streets or relaxing
in the green gardens of Doogles Lodge where we will be setting
up camp. Dinner is served around the campfire.
Day 6 (Saturday)
After an early breakfast depart to Liwonde National Park,
stopping on the way at some superb local craft stables. Liwonde
NP, the best game park in Malawi, is well known for its population
of 5 black rhinos living at a sanctuary within the Park. After
setting up camp we enjoy our lunch in the beautiful surroundings
of Mvuu Campsite. Spend the rest of the day in camp or take
an optional game drive and/or night drive. Enjoy dinner accompanied
by the mysterious wildlife sounds of the National Park.
Day 7 (Sunday)
In the morning there is the option to join a boat safari on
the Shire and experience the diversity of life on the river.
Or for the more adventurous join an early morning walking
safari before departing to Lilongwe.
