This overnight Victoria Falls & Chobe Budget Safari sets out from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, heading to the border and crossing into neighbouring Botswana.
Completing border formalities, we drive to the northern Botswana town of Kasane, located on the banks of the Chobe River. The Chobe River forms a natural border between Botswana, Namibia and Zambia and is the main source of water in Chobe National Park.
Our Botswana Safari Getaway stops for lunch, before embarking on a relaxing boat cruise along the Chobe River.
Returning from our game viewing boat cruise we pack up and prepare for our Chobe National Park Overnight Safari – an overnight wildlife experience in the untamed bush of Chobe National park. Chobe Park is one of Botswana’s premier game parks, renowned for its large elephant herds.
Spend the afternoon in search of African wildlife as we take a game drive to our safari camp inside Chobe Park where we will spend the evening surrounded by the night-time noises of nearby wildlife. Keep an eye out for the rare Sable and Roan Antelope, with their impressive slanting horns, or try to keep count of the Lilac Breasted Roller’s that swoop by on your game drive in Chobe!
After our thrilling night in the African bush, we head out early in search of the variety of wildlife in Chobe Park taking advantage of the early morning which is an excellent time for game viewing. Then we return to the safari camp to pack up and drive back to nearby Kasane.
Our overnight Budget Chobe Safari gives us plenty of opportunities to admire the fantastic wildlife of Chobe Park, known throughout the world as Africa’s greatest elephant sanctuary. Chobe Park is also home to a wide variety of other wild animals including Cape buffalo, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra and numerous other antelope species. The Chobe river-front is also one of the best bird watching spots in Botswana.
Please Note: The bush campsites in Chobe National Park are unfenced, so wild animals can (and sometimes do) venture into our safari camp. Roaming through the camp is natural for the local wildlife and forms a magical part of the Chobe experience! Your safari guide will brief you on camp security when you arrive at the Chobe bush camp so please do not be alarmed.
We get up before dawn and have a refreshing tea and coffee, before venturing out on our morning game drive in Chobe Park. With some luck we’ll catch a glimpse of a few of the nocturnal animals before they rest up for the day as well sighting some other African wildlife waking up to the new day.
We return to our safari camp in Chobe for breakfast, before transferring out of Chobe Park to Kasane in the late morning.
From Kasane we head back to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe where this Victoria Falls & Chobe Budget Botswana Safari ends on arrival in the late afternoon.
