Information:
South Africa is a country rich in minerals, with abundant
wildlife and spectacular scenery; a land of simple beauty
with a social and political structure that is anything but!
A country having 3 capitals - Pretoria the Administrative,
Cape Town the Legislative, and Bloemfontein the Judicial -
could never be simple! Having by far the most developed and
sophisticated economy on the continent South Africa is essential
to many of the neighbouring countries as an avenue for exports,
and a provider of electricity and high tech products.
South Africa's international acceptance has clearly improved
since the elections in April and the hope for all who know
that country is that the wide feelings of good-will prevalent
throughout the community since that time can be translated
into genuine progress for the benefit of the country as a
whole and all of its peoples.
Politics aside the country remains a beautiful one. A good
network of roads and an abundance of high quality campsites
(as well as some startling beautiful scenery) makes travelling
in and around South Africa an easy and very rewarding experience.
