DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA:
The Cape Town to Port Elizabeth area is truly
a visual delight. From the magnificent Table Mountain of Cape
Town you head out to the Cape Winelands and then over to the
Whale Capital of South Africa, Hermanus. From there you head
for the Ostrich town of Oudshoorn and on to the World famous
Garden route. After spending a few days in this Garden of
Eden you head out for some game viewing in the Malaria Free
Addo Elephant National Park before ending your trip in the
friendly city of Port Elizabeth with its endless beaches.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1 - Cape Town to Stellenbosch
Leaving Cape Town you will head out to the majestic
University town of Stellenbosh in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Stellenbosch is a place of great beauty and culture that's
steeped in South African tradition. The Stellenbosch Wine
Route is arguably the country's most famous, and the Stellenbosch
Wine of Origin area includes 106 cellars - most of which are
open to the public. Enjoy a long day's wine tasting, and wine
buying and you'll sip more than our great South African wines
- you'll taste our South African way of life.
The heart of the town lies somewhere near the oak-lined Dorp
Street. With its venerable old buildings, this is the University's
main thoroughfare, where modern student life sits comfortably
side by side with our history and architectural heritage.
The University - Maties - has produced many of the country's
great sporting heroes, including more than 155 rugby Springboks,
and Stellenbosch offers almost every outdoor activity you
could desire - from world-class sports facilities (rugby,
cricket and soccer are national passions) to popular mountain
bike routes and six truly great golf courses.
An important cultural centre, Stellenbosch has many galleries
and museums housing important national and international art
collections and the Stellenbosch Conservatoire is the country's
oldest music school.

Day 2 - Stellenbosch to
Hermanus
Heading from Stellenbosh you will drive a short
distance over the “Overberg” to the coastal town
of Hermanus.
Hermanus is built along the shores of Walker Bay near the
Southern most tip of Africa. Magnificent mountains watch over
the town which is home of the Southern Right Whale. (Seasonal:
July – November). Nature lovers from all over the world
visit Hermanus to view these magnificent creatures from the
best land based whale-watching destination in the world.

Day 3 - Hermanus to Oudshoorn
Heading up toward the Garden Route through majestic
farmlands and quaint towns you arrive in Oudshoorn the Centre
of the Klein Karoo and 'ostrich-feather capital' of the world.
In addition to these large birds Oudshoorn is famous for been
the closest town to the natural wonder of the Cango Caves.
Oudshoorn is a lush oasis catering for adventure, cultural
and geological tourists and is one of the most-visited towns
in the country.

Day 4 & 5 - Oudshoorn to Knysna
Heading out of Knysna you will head towards
the beginning of the Garden Route, the beautiful town of Knysna.
Knysna is the unofficial capital of the Garden Route, surrounded
by forests, lakes, mountains and sea; this ever-popular tourist
destination is a charming town of legend, history, arts and
crafts catering to visitors' every need or fancy.
Knysna is situated on South Africa's only National Lake,
which is also the country's largest permanent estuary. Knysna
is a nature lovers dream.

Day 6 - Knysna to Wilderness
A short drive up the coast you will head towards
the Wilderness the heart of South Africa's famous Garden Route,
a charming world of lakes, rivers, fens, estuaries and beaches
against a backdrop of lush forest and lofty mountains.

Day 7 - Wilderness to Addo Elephant National Park
From the Garden Route you head towards the Addo
Elephant National Park for a spot of game viewing in “Big
5” country. The Addo Elephant National Park is South
Africa’s second largest National Park and is malaria
free. Game drives into the Addo Elephant National Park can
be booked through your accommodation. (If you prefer African
Budget Safaris can pre book your safari on your behalf.)

Day 8 - Addo Elephant National Park to Wilderness
From the Addo Elephant National Park you will
head towards the “Friendly City” of Port Elizabeth,
a major seaport and tourist destination along the dazzling
shores of Algoa Bay Port Elizabeth is a sea sports mecca.
This is where your package ends.

Elizabeth to Durban Section or alternatively you can drop
your hired car of at the Port Elizabeth airport and fly back
down to Cape Town. Check with African Budget Safaris for a
