Born and bred a true Capetonian, I’ve always had aspirations of travel and teaching. So, after high school I studied Travel & Tourism and stuck it out in an office doing admin, until eventually I caught my break at an Overland Safari company.
This opened my eyes to a whole new world, and the land I call home - Africa. I spent a few years discovering fascinating new places and learning the ropes of the industry. During a short break from Overlanding, I also worked with some great people at a local adventure travel centre.
After a few years the temptation to travel abroad hit me and I decided to Au Pair in Germany. Living in the beautiful countryside of Bavaria, I got to take a few short getaways in Europe. Returning home, I specialised in the more upmarket side of travel, but it wasn’t for me, so I found my way back to Overlanding, where it all started. I’ve since spent many years working in Overland travel, gaining experience across different departments.
This industry has afforded me many amazing opportunities – camping under the stars, game driving in Kruger National Park, falling from 10000ft in Swakopmund, taking on the mighty Zambezi, walking with rhinos in the beautiful Matopos, to mention but a few.
Passionate about promoting and passing on these experiences and more to others, I now know why I have been drawn into this world of tourism...
