This Botswana Camping Safari departs from a pre-arranged meeting point in Maun at 07h30 on day one.
Your guide will meet you in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, from where you will drive to Moremi Game Reserve, one of Botswana's top game parks. En route to Moremi, we stop for a break and your guide briefs you one the safari adventure ahead.
We spend the first three days of this wildlife safari exploring Moremi Reserve on game drives in search of the impressive array of wild animals and prolific birdlife found in this diverse wilderness area of Botswana. Moremi is considered one of the most beautiful game reserves in Africa covering the eastern part of the Okavango Delta where mopane woodland and acacia forests contrast with watery floodplains and lagoons.
Moremi is home to elephants, especially numerous during the dry season, as well as buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal. A wide variety of antelope species, including the rare red lechwe, are also found in Moremi Game Reserve, along with healthy populations of endangered African Wild Dog.
During our stay in Moremi, we embark on game drives in the early mornings at sunrise and again in the late afternoons at sunset. Our early morning game drives are followed by lunch and a rest back at the safari camp. On day three we shift to a new campsite in the Khwai River area, exploring a different part of the pristine Moremi Reserve. We camp in private campsites with bush ablutions in designated wilderness areas of the scenic Moremi reserve.
Botswana's most diverse wilderness area, the vast Chobe Park is best known for its large herds of migratory elephants. Next, our journey in search of wildlife takes us across the drier Savuti plains of Chobe. Savuti hosts one of Africa's highest concentrations of wildlife within Chobe and is renowned for its predators, especially lion and hyena. We continue north to the Chobe River meandering along the banks of the river on our game drives as we look out for elephants, hippos and buffalos as well as rich birdlife including the African Fish Eagle. In Chobe, we camp at remote and private campsites with bush ablutions. First, we camp in the Savuti area for a night, and then we spend two nights in the northern part of Chobe, near the Chobe River.
We embark on a morning game drive in the Chobe area before crossing into Zimbabwe. Then we drive to the mighty Victoria Falls (visa required), where we stay overnight at a comfortable lodge. On the last night of this Botswana Camping Safari dinner will be at your own expense at the lodge or out in Vic Falls.
In the afternoon you can visit the famous Victoria Falls, one of Africa's top natural highlights. Witnessing Vic Falls, the largest curtain of falling water in the world is an unforgettable experience. Marvelling at the waterfall you will see why the local Kololo people call it Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means "The Smoke that Thunders". You can also explore Vic Falls, go curio shopping and enjoy optional activities at Vic Falls. Optional adventure activities in Vic Falls include white water rafting and canoeing on the Zambezi River, swimming in Devil's pool and taking scenic microlight or helicopter flights over Victoria Falls.
The truly wild African bush experience of the Chobe & Moremi Botswana Camping Safari officially ends after breakfast on day eight.
This camping safari is also available as a 9-day tour that spends extra time in the bush at the same price! The Moremi, Chobe & Victoria Falls Camping Safari offers an extra day in the Moremi Game Reserve area, at the start of the safari.

On this semi-participation safari we will be camping at bush campsites in 2.1m x 2.1m x 1.75m bow tents that are easy to set up (clients help to erect the tents). All windows and doors of the tents are fitted with treated mosquito netting. Each person will get a 5cm high-density foam camping mattress to sleep on while camping.
The bush ablutions consist of high-slung bucket showers and bush toilets with canvas screens for privacy. Round (200V/2pin) power units are available in the vehicles to recharge cameras and in Maun there are Internet cafes and photo shops that will download digital photos. In Victoria Falls we stay in rooms at a comfortable lodge.
