This affordable 2-day Cape Town Safari starts in the beautiful city of Cape Town. You are collected from your accommodation in the city bowl, between 07h00 and 09h00 this morning (time to be confirmed via your guesthouse the night before departure). Leaving Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa, we travel northeast into the semi-arid Klein Karoo. The drive from Cape Town to Inverdoorn Game Reserve is only about two-and-a-half hours long.
We arrive at the Big 5 safari lodge in Inverdoorn Game Reserve at about 12h30 and enjoy lunch out under the trees between 13h00 and 13h30. Our lunch is a delightful buffet of five starters, two main courses, and two desserts. Lunch is followed by free time to check into your chosen accommodation and relax at the safari lodge. Take a short nap or a refreshing swim in the pool and freshen up before our late afternoon game drive.
Before setting out on our Big 5 game drive, we enjoy afternoon tea, which is served at 16h00 (15h30 in winter). At about 16h30 we board an open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle and head off on our first game drive in the malaria-free Inverdoorn Game Reserve. Your professional guide takes you in search of the iconic Big 5 safari animals, along with an array of African wildlife and birds. While out on the game drive your safari guide will pause for interesting wildlife and bird sightings, allowing you to get a closer look and take photographs. Your guide is also happy to tell you more about the local flora and fauna and answer questions as you explore.
Back at the comfortable safari lodge, we enjoy an aperitif and a tasty dinner at about 20h00 (19h30 in winter). Spend the remainder of the evening relaxing in the bar or outdoor boma. End day one of your Cape Town Safari off with some stargazing before retreating to your comfortable room.

On day two of our Cape Town Safari, we wake up early and set off on a rewarding sunrise game drive at about 06h00 (07h00 in winter). Early mornings are excellent for game viewing because many of the animals are active and the light is ideal for taking photographs. Soak up the South African bush habitat from the open-sided safari vehicle, scanning the bush for movement. Your guide draws on his or her experience and knowledge to locate the wild animals and birds of Inverdoorn Game Reserve, searching out members of Africa's Big 5 as you explore. After our exciting 4x4 game drive in Inverdoorn reserve, we return to the safari lodge for a delicious English breakfast at about 09h00. After breakfast, we get ready to check out by about 10h00.
For guests staying in the Ambassador Collection, a special cheetah viewing is included on your Cape Town Safari today. After checking out of your luxurious accommodation you can visit the cheetah conservation center and spend an hour with the resident animals, finding out more about the conservation work being carried out here.
Our comfortable transfer vehicle departs from Inverdoorn Game Reserve by about 11h30, taking us back to Cape Town. Arriving in Cape Town between 14h30 and 15h00 this afternoon, you are transferred to your Cape Town accommodation. Inverdoorn Game Reserve covers about 10 000 hectares of wilderness in the Klein Karoo region, near Ceres. There are three charming safari lodges at Inverdoorn Game Reserve which are ideal for accommodating families. The stylish accommodation was designed for relaxation in keeping with the tranquillity of the surrounding Karoo landscape. The lodge rooms feature en-suite showers and air-conditioning which can cool or warm the room. There are communal lounges in two of the safari lodges with a cozy fireplace and a refreshment station.
