Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1: Windhoek to Etosha Park – Namibia

On the first morning of this short Private Etosha Safari, you are collected from your pre-tour accommodation in Windhoek. Leaving the capital of Namibia your trained safari guide drives you north to Etosha National Park. One of the best safari destinations in Africa, Etosha is a massive national park covering about 22 270 km² of northern Namibia.

This afternoon you embark on an exhilarating 4x4 game drive in Etosha. Your experienced guide takes you in search of the abundant wildlife and birds of Etosha, Namibia's premier game park. Along the way, you'll stop at waterholes where wildlife is known to congregate and find out all about the animals and habitats of Etosha from your private guide. Etosha is home to plenty of large mammals, including four of the Big Five - lion, leopard, rhino, and elephant. Safari animals include cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelopes, as well as over 340 bird species.

Your game drive ends at one of the rest camps inside Etosha where we spend the night. Here we enjoy a braai (barbecue) around the campfire. Tonight after dinner, you can visit the floodlit waterhole at camp to watch for nocturnal wildlife.

  • Accommodation: Okaukuejo or Halali Resort (or similar)
  • Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2: Etosha National Park – Namibia

A full day of wildlife adventures in Etosha Park awaits! We're up early to get out into the bush while the animals and birds are at their most active. Our 4x4 game drive takes us northeast through the park, along the southern fringes of Etosha Pan, the "Great White Place". As the heat peaks in the middle of the day, mirages rise up over the shimmering pans and we stop for lunch at one of the camps.

En route to our next overnight camp, we stop at watering holes to see the wild animals and birds that gather at these life-giving oases. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as the day begins to cool down and the animals and birds become more active again.

  • Accommodation: Halali or Namutoni Camp (or similar)
  • Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 3: Etosha Park to Windhoek – Namibia

On our final morning, we take a short game drive as we exit Etosha Park, a last chance to spot the wildlife and birds of the African bush. En route to Windhoek, we stop in Okahandja to visit the well-known craft market of the town. Arriving back in Windhoek this afternoon your guide will drop you off at the airport or your post-tour accommodation concluding your Private Namibia Safari.

  • Meals Included: Breakfast

Etosha Safari Transport

Transport on this Private Etosha Safari is in a 4x4 safari vehicle. For small tours with 2 guests a Toyota Hilux is used and for groups of 4-6 guests, a Toyota Landcruiser with a pop-up roof is used. The Toyota Landcruiser vehicles used for 4-6 passengers have been specially designed and customized for the rough roads of Namibia. The vehicles are fitted with six comfortable seats ensuring a window seat for every guest. Large sliding windows provide optimal views for wildlife photography and taking in the scenery. There is a bar fridge onboard to keep drinks cold as well as electric sockets for battery chargers.

Meals on Safari in Etosha

This Namibia Safari includes all breakfasts during the tour, as per the itinerary. Lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price. All meals not listed on the itinerary as included will be for your own account. You will either be able to buy a lunch pack from the lodges that we stay at or your guide will take you to a deli, bakery, or shop at one of the rest camps where you can buy lunch. A budget of about N$300 per person should suffice for the own-expense dinners in Etosha.

Etosha Safari Accommodation

This Private Namibia Safari stays at mid-range lodge accommodation inside Etosha Park. Namibia has a good tourism infrastructure and relatively high standards of service in general, providing plenty of good quality options. All of the stays on this tour provide clean and simple, yet comfortable accommodations in twin, double or single rooms with en suite facilities.

If one of the rest camps specified on the itinerary is not available, accommodation of similar standards will be used at another rest camp or lodge near the national park. Although every effort is made to use substitute accommodation of the same standards inside the park, it may sometimes be necessary to use accommodation of a higher standard (at a small extra cost) when availability is an issue.
