Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park - South Africa

Boarding our air-conditioned vehicle, we leave the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg behind and head for the African bushveld. Our journey takes us via the renown Panorama Route, which winds alongside the Blyde River Canyon and provides excellent photo opportunities of the many spectacular viewpoints. Look out for the smaller animals that inhabit this area, such as vervet monkeys, baboons and antelope. We visit the village of Pilgrims' Rest, a relic of the days of the gold rush and preserved to recreate life in a 19th-century boom town. Arriving at our tented camp, alongside the Sabie River, at around 14h00, we take some time to freshen up before we head out on our first exhilarating game viewing drive into the African bush, going in search of the abundant wildlife inhabiting this vast national park.

Look out for the wildlife heading to the waterholes as they begin to stir from their midday naps. As sunset approaches, we return to our riverside camp to prepare for dinner in the boma close to the river. As night falls we gather around the campfire chatting with our fellow travellers before making our way to our luxury tents and a good nights' rest.

Day 2: Kruger National Park - South Africa

We're up with the sun this morning ready for our full day's game drive in Kruger National Park. Our professional guide collects us at our camp in open, 4x4 safari vehicles. The vehicle's open sides give the feeling of being immersed in the bush and the raised vantage is ideal for spotting wildlife and birdlife, as well as offering excellent photo opportunities. The day is spent exploring Kruger National Park in search of the BIg 5, the many other species resident here and the prolific birdlife. Our knowledgeable guide is a fountain of information on the African bush and the wildlife and entertains us with his facts and stories. We enjoy our packed breakfast at one of the camps in Kruger and take many breaks to stretch our legs and refresh ourselves. We visit Skukuza, Kruger's largest camp, which boasts restaurants, a deli and an internet cafe.

As the day draws to a close it's time to head back to our luxury tented camp for our welcome dinner and an evening of re-living the exciting events of the day.

About Kruger Park

South Africa's flagship national park, Kruger National Park is world-renowned for its superb game viewing and is one of Africa's largest and best game reserves. Kruger hosts an awe-inspiring variety of wild animals, plants, reptiles, birds, trees, amphibians and even fish across its wide range of landscapes and ecosystems. We may pass through various vegetation zones, such as open savannahs, dense woodlands and riverine bush. The vastness and wildness of Kruger are simply astounding. On our game drives, we may see some of Kruger's endangered and rare animal and bird species, such as African wild dogs, rhinos, bateleur eagles, and southern ground-hornbills. The Park is home to an unrivalled diversity of African wildlife and is considered a world leader in terms of its environmental policies and management practices.

Day 3: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg - South Africa

Our final day begins with an early morning wildlife viewing drive in Kruger, where we look out for the wildlife we missed yesterday. We take a break to tuck into our packed breakfast before continuing our wildlife search. Back at the tented camp, we are collected by our professional driver/guide who transfers us back to Johannesburg in our luxury, air-conditioned vehicle, bringing this well-priced safari to a close.

About the Tented Camp

Our tented camp is located on the banks of the Sabie River, close to Kruger National Park. Accommodation is in 21 fully air-conditioned luxury tents with en-suite facilities, electric blankets, a tea/coffee making facility and a mini-safe. Each luxury tent is elevated above the floodplain creating beautiful river and mountain views, which may be enjoyed from the tent's covered patio.

The river location has been maximised to its full potential with a bar and boma situated on its banks. A rock pool has been created at the bottom of the rapids and is an ideal spot to enjoy a G&T or chardonnay. It's also safe for swimming with no hippo or crocodile activity in this part of the river. The riverside camp is a peaceful place to relax and admire the lovely birdlife here. There is a central public area which includes a reception area, lounge, dining room and bar.

Famous for its 5-star meals, this luxury tented camp, in such a wonderful location, is an ideal spot for visits to Kruger National Park.
