Experience the hugely varied habitats and incredible wildlife of the Moremi Game Reserve, on the fringe of the Okavango Delta, on this exclusive 4-day camping safari. We fly out of Maun in a helicopter up to the Moremi Game Reserve and camp on the banks of the Boro River. This area is known for its astounding beauty.
Add to that wildlife and birdlife that'll leave you open-mouthed in wonder and you've got the trip of a lifetime. This area is home to an enormous array of Africa's finest animals - leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and hippos to name a few. We'll explore it both on foot and boat.
This is a fully-serviced, mobile tented safari with beds and en suite bathrooms (bucket showers). With no client participation required, all you have to do on this safari is sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery.
You'll be met you at Maun International Airport by the helicopter charter who will fly you out to Xaxaba Airstrip. Here your guide will meet you, and we'll transfer by boat through the magical waterways to our camp set magnificently on the banks of the Boro River.
Flying over this spectacular area you'll be able to spot the larger animals - elephant, wildebeest and the like - and, once we land, smaller animals will be spotted too, along the banks of the river. We'll also explore the area by foot, marvelling at Africa's fauna and flora.
We arrive at our mobile tented camp in time to settle into our spacious tents (beds and linen included) with their private, en-suite bathrooms, before enjoying our first African sunset as dinner is prepared.
Situated on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta, we explore the south-western part of Moremi. This area is a wonderland of waterways, floodplains, lagoons, woodlands and savannahs. As such, it offers habitats to a wide range of wildlife and a beautiful array of birds.
On our explorations, we may encounter red lechwe, buffalo and elephants, along with various antelopes and hippos. Large predators are sighted here too, including lions, leopards and wild dogs. The swamps of Xakanaxa host a rich array of birds, including African rail, Allen's gallinule and winding cisticola; whilst the open water attracts African skimmer, saddle-billed stork, Goliath Heron and African fish eagle, as well as the threatened slaty egret and wattled crane.
We spend our days exploring the area on boat trips along one of the Okavango's main waterways and walking safaris. There's nothing quite like soaking up the African sun, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the bush.
After enjoying an early morning breakfast, we board the boat and head to Maun, where our trip ends.
The journey takes us through the spectacular waterways of the Okavango, alive with wild- and birdlife and takes three to five hours. Alternatively, you may choose to fly out of the delta by helicopter (not included in price).
