What are Camping Overland Tours all about? by

As the name suggests Camping Overland Tours involve traveling by overland trucks through Africa and camping under the stars along the way.

Camping is usually done in the various rest camps along the route, but can also involve "bush camping" if there are no rest camps in a specific area. This all adds to the camping experience.

The tents used are mostly walk-in canvas two-man dome tents, that are comfortable and well-ventilated. Full participation is required when camping, and you will be expected to help out with meal preparation on a roster basis, as well as putting your tent up and taking it down.

Participation within the group environment cements the relationships you develop within your group and provides you with a temporary family away from home.

Age Limit on Camping Overland Tours

The average age bracket that chooses the camping option is 18 to 30-year-olds, however, this is the norm rather than the rule. As long as you have a sense of adventure, and do not mind getting involved with your fellow travelers this form of travel can be great fun even if you’re 60!

There are a few tours where the traveler age is restricted from 18 years and up, so be sure to check with our team if you are travelling with under 18's.  Other camping tours may include children over 6 years of age so Drop us an inquiry here and we will gladly advise you on the trip that best suits your personal preferences.
