Have a look at what our travellers have to say about us on TrustPilot our independent review platform:
From 2013 to November 2017 we used TripAdvisor as our review platform and we’re incredibly proud of the five consecutive Certificates of Excellence we received from them. However as a Tour Agent, TripAdvisor advised us, in early November 2017, that we were no longer allowed to retain our listing. The good news is that we still have all of our TripAdvisor reviews right here though, so go ahead and check them out to.
I was making a last minute booking (3 weeks in advance) to take a 5 day safari with my family (including two teenage kids). I found African budget Safaris, read a couple of good reviews, and reached out to them with a specific trip in mind. They checked availability, and when not available suggested an alternative which was amazing. We loved the tour, and Harriet from ABS was great - she spoke to me on the phone and via email to make sure we had everything we needed (including reminding me that we needed birth certificates for our kids to travel to South Africa which I would have missed). Great service in organising everything. And it all went like clockwork. Much much appreciated.
I joined 3 nights 4 days safari tour in South Africa through African Budget Safaris. The staff of African Budget Safaris are friendly and helpful. Their customer service are excellent. I needed not worry about anything before join a tour. I had a great time in South Africa. I saw many wild life in safari. Beauty of nature of South Africa is amazing. And the guides and drivers are so friendly. If I have a chance, I will join a safari tour again through African Budget Safaris.
Fantastic company to book your safari or other adventure through. Great prices. Everything from our transportation, safari and lodge were perfect. Worth every penny !
I'm so happy with the service I received from African Budget Safaris. During the booking process, everything was always clearly explained to me, and all my questions were answered. I was assured that there would be veggie food available on the tour, and I was able to arrange an accommodation upgrade for the Cape Town extension that I added to my tour. Once I arrived in South Africa, everything was as described, and I was very well cared for on the tour. There was always a veggie option for me to eat, and our tour guide was the perfect combination of knowledgeable, organized, and personable. The tour itself offered so much variation – game driving, hiking, beach time, ziplining, etc. I will definitely use African Budget Safaris again for my future travels!
Wow I am SO grateful to Claire from African Bedget Safaris as she gave me the holiday of a lifetime. I am a couple of years off 80 years and she helped me choose the right route and advised accommodated not camping. The tour itself is, as our guide, Kit, said, not a holiday but an adventure and if you enter into it that way then 'It is all happiness'. Expect long drives over bumpy roads but with regular stops. Have change ready for the loos in Borswana and remember that you collect loo paper from the attendant before you go in! The visit to the San people was fascinating and the optional two days lodge stay in the Okavango Delta like something from Out Of Africa. The flight to Maun goes over the Delta but spend the extra and take a flight over it to get a real feel of its scale and magnificence. Chobe was alive with elephants, buck, hippos and even rhino amongst smaller game. Then to top it all the magestic, awesome Vic Falls. The icing on the cake for me was to find that the guide had chosen the A'Zambezi hotel for our last night's dinner. It stayed there some years ago and the sunset at about 6.30pm cannot be bettered. $30 covered a vast buffet dinner and a long set of Zuluz singing and dancing. This trip was on my bucket list and I cannot thankmClaire and Nomad enough for the quality of information they gave before the trip. Do read everything from Nomad so that you understand what to expect and you should enjoy this trip as much as I did.
African budget safari were amazing to deal with when booking this trip. Very informative and all my queries were answered promptly. Thanks Bronwyn!
The trip itself..... simply the best 7 consecutive days of my life. I had tears in my eyes when it was over. Words cannot describe this experience, our guide Moscow was wonderful. I joined the tour as a single traveler and have no regrets.
1.5 years on.... I'm heading back to Africa again and on a tour through them again. This time Capetown to Windhoek camping safari for almost 2 weeks - can't wait!!!
4 day Kruger park treehouse and private game lodge safari This is misleading and not entire true, please read this tour very carefully and what is explained in your tour as you are not spending 4days in Kruger national park with no guarantee of staying in a tree house If your travelling from Cape Town your first day is spent in transit which took 9 hours not 4 which they told me. You will do a night bush drive which was good but because you can't use torches you won't see much plus your to tired after sitting on a couch for 9 hours Your second day is spent in Balue ( greater Kruger ) this was good Your 3rd day in the (Kruger national park) and your 4th day is spent in transit with an 1h walk around the camp what they call a bush walk. So in true terms you only spend 1 day in Kruger park it's self and 1 day in greater Kruger, the other 2 days is spent on a bus pretty much. In addition to this we ended up travelling with VIVA tours and not Budget Safari. However Viva tours were very good and we were very happy with them but Budget Safari have manipulated what is getting sold to you as a (4 day Kruger park treehouse and private game lodge safari) Also please note that as advitised
"Sataying in a Treehouse" is not guaranteed, they advise you to request this on your 1st day of arrival but when we asked for this they said they can not guarantee the tree house as other guests will be staying there and there s only 2 tree houses Over all is was great and we both loved every minute of our trip
I found the whole process of organising our safari really easy. Harriet was so responsive to every detail when trying to plan our trip. We probably weren't the easiest customers either - there was a lot of mind changing and then a 3rd friend wanted to join our trip but every query and request was addressed quickly and with ease. We had a great time on Safari with absolutely no stress because everything was so well organised. Thank you so much!
Very good trip overall. Food was excellent. Cook and driver friendly and competent. They were flexible enough to deal with minor problems and always approachable and helping where they could.
This was a "tailor made" tour (for us as a school group) and would do it again!
Very helpful in helping me find a suitable trip for the dates available to me.
Good communication! Excellent service.
Rene was every helpful in helping to process my booking through African Budget Safaris as well as very forthcoming in providing additional information. Further, Rene went out of her way to assist with additional aspects unrelated to the tour to ensure my comfort and safety such as taxi's and organising transfers in Africa which made my trip very convenient. The safari itself was great, the tour stuck by the itinerary and we had a great team - guide, cook and driver who we got along with well and could call friends by the end of the trip. Very sad my safari has come to an end, it was an experience of a lifetime! :D
I can only say that Claire Monson is an angel. We three, for a year, pestered this lady with a thousand questions and emails which she responded to quickly and with all the information we needed. Every correspondence with her was upbeat and I felt she was as excited as we were, which went a long way to easing some anxieties that we had. Claire was able to shoe horn all that we wanted to do into a once in a lifetime adventure that will never be forgotten.
African Budget Safaris went above and beyond our expectations. We had a unique situation and they were flexible and accommodating, getting us into a safari experience that was incredible. I was expecting to have problems doing this while on the road, but the booking was really simple. As for the safari...the description on their site didn't nearly do it justice. Amazing experience by Porini Mara with dedicated guides, an awesome staff at the camp, the best meals we had in Africa, and of course, all the wild animals you could imagine. Once in a lifetime experience. I can't recommend a safari enough, and African Budget Safari did a great job for us, so I'd recommend them too.
We were a family of four looking for a value safari. We dealt with Chris from African Budget Safari's. Chris's customer service skills are prompt and very professional. I haven't dealt with anyone else here but Chris was very impressive. We ended up on the two night Treehouse Safari run by Viva Safaris, one night at the Tremisana Lodge which was great, very comfortable accommodation, food and people with Warthogs and Monkeys to greet you for breakfast. The second night was as the description says, a bit more of a rustic experience. From talking to other people it would have been good to have done the 3 night safari as that included the 2 hour walking tour at Tremisana Lodge which they said was really good. The walking tour at Marc's Treehouse was more of a casual stroll around looking at insects and trees, but it was as per the description. We spent a full day in the Kruger in between and saw four of the big five. The Kruger is such a massive place that we would have been very lucky to see all 5 in one day. We were lucky on the night time drive at Tremisana as well being able to see giraffes, an elephant, who came very close and numerous other animals. Having dinner out in the bush was fun. Everyone at Viva Safaris was very nice, it all ran according to plan, the food was good and we met a variety of people so all in all a great experience. Thanks again Chris for all your help, both pre and post safari, you are a credit to African Budget Safaris.
From the very first inquiry email to the last day of the overland safari, I was very impressed with the service. I asked so many questions, sent so many emails, changed so many plans and everything went really well. The safari itself was exactly what I was looking for...a professional outfit on a budget. The staff were friendly and experienced and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thank you for a great experience!
Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour leader "Sam" was amazing, he was professional at all times. Kept us informed with each days itinerary. The food was variable and tasty. All the excursions were well planned and the guides were informative. Overall, we felt everybody we met cared about our experience and did their very best to make it positive and fun, while educating us about their country and customs.
We had booked a 13 day trip from Windhoeck to Vic Falls.
Even before geting started every remaining question we had was promptly adressed by the team of African budged safaris.
Travelling with Mabaruli Safari we had a really great time exploring Namibia and Botswana. During our travels we experienced our Mabaruli guide Nathan to be exeptionally reliable and trustworthy! He made sure everything was okay and had loads of information about the wildlife and culture of the places we visited.
We can totally recommend African Budget Safaris as well as Mabaruli Safari and are really glad to have booked our Trip with them.
I live in Central Africa, but not in a country that has big game parks. So when we decided to go on a safari, I needed some expert help. I had no idea of how complicated it would be to be a U.S. citizen living in central Africa, booking a safari in South Africa! Claire, our travel agent at African Budget Safari, was great in walking us through the steps, even though we booked at the last minute and had a few logistical complications. The safari was a great experience. Everyone we encountered was focused on customer service, the accommodations were nice and the wildlife was great. We loved it!
I worked directly with Bronwyn to book my 6 night safari in South Africa through African Budget Safari and she was amazing. From start to finish she was prompt, detailed, attentive and helpful as I am always full of questions! I gave her an approximate date range, types of accommodations I was seeking and budget and she presented me with several options from which to choose. Once I decided she was able to help me prepare for my trip and answer questions. If there is any issue during your trip she is there to help as well. I didn't experience any issues myself but I remember her needing a few minutes while we were planning as she had other clients who had missed their flights that she needed to attend to. I cannot say enough good things about Bronwyn and African Budget Safari. When I plan my next trip I will definitely be booking through them again.
From booking to our actual trip it was all so well organised and led to a very enjoyable experience. Having never been in South Africa or on a Safari before we had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend African Budget Safari's to organise your trip.
