Why Travel to Antananarivo? by

Madagascar is a relative newcomer to international tourism and as such the poor infrastructure can pose a real challenge for travellers. Madagascar is a massive island (about 587 041 km²) which makes getting around on your own a time-consuming and often difficult task, given the poor road conditions and limited transport options. Joining a group tour or booking a tailor-made trip for your travel group does away with the logistical headaches and hassles of finding affordable transport. 

Almost all of our Madagascar Budget Tours travel via Antananarivo, starting and ending in the capital. The first or last night of most tours is spent in Tana, giving you time to explore the city and visit a few sights and markets. Booking an extra night or two in Antananarivo before or after one of our Madagascar packages is easy enough, just ask one of our travel consultants.

All of our Madagascar tours are accommodated, which means that excellent-value lodge accommodation is included in the trip price. Some tours include luxury camping or fully-serviced camping components in nature, such as Nosy Mangabe off the Masoala Peninsula and St Luce Reserve in southern Madagascar. All budget Madagascar tours travelling via Antananarivo include airport transfers from and to Ivato International. The packages also typically include breakfasts and some other meals, activities and local guides in places.
