Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park, South Africa

This 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari departs from Johannesburg early on the first morning. Guests are collected from OR Tambo International Airport or from their guesthouse within a five km radius of the airport.

The shuttle departs from OR Tambo by 07h15, driving into the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. We travel straight to our comfortable safari lodge in Hazyview and arrive in time to enjoy a light lunch. After lunch, unpack and settle in at the lodge. Explore the lodge's leafy gardens on foot or take a refreshing dip in the pool.

In the afternoon, at about 15h45, you set off on your first game drive in Kruger National Park. This sunset game drive lasts into the night when a spotlight is used to search for nocturnal animals in the dark. In winter, you will have more time on the night game drive because it gets dark earlier. In summer, you get to see more of the African bush and witness a spectacular sunset.

We head back to our safari lodge at about 20h00 for a tasty dinner and leisure time.

  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner
  • Accommodation: Safari Lodge near Kruger Park

Days 2: Kruger National Park Safari, South Africa

On day two of our Kruger Lodge Safari, we get up before dawn for our full-day game drive in Kruger Park. The lodge provides packed breakfasts so that we can set off without delay.

A short drive brings us to Kruger National Park as the gates open. As soon as we enter, the game viewing adventure begins. The early morning is one of the best times of day for seeing wildlife, as the predators settle down after a night of hunting and the herbivores begin to stir. The open safari vehicles used on this tour are the most modern and ensure that everyone has optimal wildlife viewing and photo opportunities.

After about three hours of exploring we stop for a breakfast break at one of the camps in Kruger Park. There will be time to buy a coffee and use the camp facilities. After our comfort break, the game drive continues. Later your guide will stop at another rest camp in the park where you can buy lunch from one of the delis, shops, or restaurants on site. This is your chance to do some curio shopping or simply sit back and relax with a cold drink.

We start to make our way out of Kruger National Park in the mid-afternoon, arriving back at the lodge at about 16h00.

This leaves some free time for you to relax before sitting down to a delicious dinner. Take a walk in the garden with its prolific birdlife or dive into the sparkling pool to cool off after a day in the bushveld.

Day 3: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg, South Africa

On the final morning of our 3 Day Kruger Lodge Safari, we embark on one more game drive. As on day two, we get up before sunrise and head straight to Kruger Park with packed breakfasts from the lodge.

Your expert safari guide focuses on finding the elusive wildlife species we may have missed yesterday. Fortunately, the knowledgeable guide knows where the best places in the park are to find the wildlife, so fingers crossed.

After our last open vehicle game drive in Kruger Park, we return to the nearby lodge, arriving at about 11h00. Then it is time to get ready to leave and say your goodbyes. The shuttle vehicle collects you at about 11h30 and transfers you back to Johannesburg.

We expect to arrive in the city between 17h00 and 18h00. The shuttle drops you off at your post-safari hotel close to the OR Tambo airport or at the shuttle terminal of the airport, concluding our memorable 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari.

Kruger Park Safari Experience

Kruger National Park is one of the leading game reserves in the world in terms of wildlife conservation. It is also the premier safari destination in South Africa and one of the finest game reserves in the whole of Africa.

Kruger National Park hosts an exceptional diversity of animal and plant species, including 148 species of mammals and over 500 species of birds. This incredible diversity is in part due to the vast size of the national park. Kruger encompasses almost 2 million hectares, making it about the same size as Israel.

On most Kruger Safaris the game drives last for about three hours but this short Kruger National Park Safari includes a full day game drive. This extended game drive in Kruger Park gives you more time inside the park which allows you to see more wildlife and a larger area of the park. The longer game drive enables you to see more of the different eco-zones in the park, as well as more animals and birds. About 80% of previous guests on this 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari saw all five of Africa's Big 5 animals.

This Kruger Park Safari usually focuses on the southern region of Kruger Park, which hosts higher densities of wildlife than the northern region. The southern sector of Kruger features sheltered valleys with trees rarely found in other parts of the reserve. The granite hills of southern Kruger Park are home to leopards, baboons, klipspringers, and many more. This region of Kruger also hosts healthy populations of giraffe, zebra, impala, kudu, buffalo, rhino, elephant, cheetah, and wild dog.
