This exhilarating 3-Day Kruger Camping Safari in South Africa begins with a morning departure from OR Tambo International Airport. Leaving Johannesburg, we drive through the captivating landscapes of Mpumalanga's Highveld and Lowveld, arriving at our tented camp in the Motlala Conservancy by approximately 14:00.
Following a refreshment break, we embark on a thrilling afternoon sunset game drive in an open safari vehicle. We explore the Moditlo Nature Reserve and the larger Blue Canyon Conservancy. With its diverse terrain, including bushveld plains and riverine areas, Blue Canyon Conservancy offers excellent opportunities to see the renowned Big 5 animals, so keep an eye out for lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes, along with various other wildlife species like cheetahs, hyenas, and giraffes.
As twilight sets in, we savour sundowners in the heart of the wilderness before returning to our safari camp in the Motlala Conservancy. We gather around the boma fire for an enjoyable evening, exchanging stories of the day's adventures in South Africa over a delightful dinner.
Today is dedicated to a full-day Kruger National Park safari in open 4x4 safari vehicles.
The second day of our Budget Kruger Safari may unfold in one of two ways: either an early start for Kruger National Park, enjoying a bush breakfast en route and returning after a while, or beginning with breakfast at our camp departing and returning later. Departure times will be communicated the night before, tailored to animal activity to optimise our chances for game viewing.
Our full-day Kruger safari in South Africa will span about 7 to 8 hours, exploring the Orpen-Satara area, renowned for prime lion sightings. Your guide will drive you through this massive national park using their knowledge to track down wildlife and birds. They will share interesting facts and insights about the Kruger bush and animals while you explore. Afterwards, we return to our tented camp in the Motlala Conservancy to relax and enjoy another starlit African dinner by the fire.
Our exciting 3-day Kruger Camping Safari in South Africa ends after breakfast at the camp in Motlala Conservancy. Then it is time to bid one another farewell and embark on our return drive to OR Tambo International Airport. We arrive in Johannesburg, around 17:00 or 18:00.

Our budget Kruger Camping Safaris stay at a fully-equipped tented camp in the Motlala Conservancy near Kruger National Park. The Motlala Conservancy is relatively lesser known despite its status as a 'Big Four' reserve.

The Blue Canyon Conservancy, located near the famed Greater Kruger National Park is an expanse of protected land teeming with an impressive variety of plant and wildlife species. The Moditlo Nature Reserve encompasses 3,200 hectares within the Blue Canyon Conservancy, totalling 12,000 hectares.
Situated at the base of the iconic Drakensberg mountains and located just 12 kilometres from Hoedspruit in the Limpopo province, it resides in the Valley of the Olifants, a mere 30 kilometres from Kruger National Park, it is dotted with lakes, and boasts a diverse array of wildlife. While it is part of the Greater Kruger biosphere, it shares boundaries with Kapama Game Reserve to the east and the Drakensberg Mountains to the west, yet it is distinct from the Greater Kruger National Park. Known for hosting the iconic Big 5 – lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes – Moditlo Private Game Reserve within the Blue Canyon Conservancy also shelters other captivating wildlife such as cheetahs, giraffes, hyenas as well as rare wild dogs and brown hyenas.
