Day 1: Johannesburg to Safari Camp & night drive in Sabi Sands Reserve

We leave the bustling city of Johannesburg after collecting you from the airport or your hotel in the area and drive towards our Safari Camp, located at Shaw’s Gate, an entrance to the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa.

After checking into your room at the exclusive safari camp there is some time to freshen up, before we embark on our first thrilling sunset safari game drive. Our evening game drive takes us in search of wildlife in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, renowned for its abundance of leopards.

An inviting camp fire awaits you back at the Safari Camp after dark, where you can enjoy some drinks before tucking into the well-prepared dinner served under star-studded African skies in the Boma or main dining area at the bush camp.

Day 2: Kruger National Park Safari Drive

After morning tea or coffee served at the camp reception area, you set off on a morning safari drive in the Kruger National Park in search of Africa's wild animals.

Arriving back at the safari camp in the mid-morning, a hearty breakfast will be served. After breakfast, there is time to rest at camp, relaxing by the pool during the heat of the day or taking a leisurely walk around the safari camp and enjoying some of the exciting activities offered at the exclusive camp.

Light lunch is served between 12:30pm and 2:00pm in the main Camp Lodge area and at about 3:00pm we head back into the bush on an afternoon Safari Drive in the world famous Kruger Park. Wildlife Safaris offer great opportunities to gain knowledge about Kruger Park with all its wildlife, bird species, fauna and flora; which promise to leave you feeling enriched and rewarded.

On our Kruger Safari drives we explore the best routes for game viewing and photographic opportunities. We welcome questions and interaction with the safari guides, so that we can provide you with as much insight into this beautiful wilderness region and its wild animals as possible.

Day 3: Sabi Sand morning bush walk & afternoon safari drive

An early morning wake-up call to witness a breathtaking sunrise as the golden-red light shines over the wilderness of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

This morning you will be exploring the African bush on foot, a once in a life time experience!

We venture into the unknown on foot with the chance of encountering some of the mysteries of nature up close in the wild. On the unforgettable bush walk we follow animal tracks and get to know the bush more intimately. Feel the tingle of your senses and your racing heartbeat as you edge closer to a herd of elephants feeding in the river, or a pride of lions lazing under shady trees.

Arriving back at the safari camp next to Sabi Sands Reserve by mid-morning, breakfast will be served.

During the heat of the day we again relax by the camp pool, taking a leisurely walk around the Safari Camp or enjoying some of the activities the well-equipped Camp has to offer. Light lunch is served between 12:30pm and 2:00pm in the main Lodge area of the comfortable tented camp.

At about 4:00pm we take another rewarding game drive in Sabi Sand with an experienced local tribesman and guide who gives us insight into the African wilderness as well as the local plants and animals. Our guide shares his in depth local knowledge of the Sabi Sand bushveld as we explore the game reserve. Sabi Sands Reserve is renowned for its excellent leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhino sightings, making for great photographic opportunities.

Back at the Sabi Sand Camp after sunset, an inviting Camp fire welcomes you to the outdoor dining boma. Relax and enjoy some drinks before dinner, served in the Boma under starry skies or in the main dining area.

Day 4: Kruger National Park Safari Drive

After morning tea or coffee we set off on an exhilarating morning safari drive in Kruger National Park searching for wildlife and taking photographs of the bush and its inhabitants. Returning to our safari camp beside Sabi Sand in the mid-morning, breakfast will be served.

As on the previous days there is free time to relax during the heat of the day, lazing at the pool, taking a nature walk around the Camp or participating in some of the outdoor activities at Camp. Between 12:30pm and 2:00pm light lunch is served in the main Lodge dining area.

At about 2:30pm we again embark on a thrilling afternoon Safari Drive in Kruger Park to sight wild animals, bird species, fauna and flora. While we are exploring the best routes for game viewing and photographic opportunities on your safari drives, we welcome interaction and questions, so we can provide you with as much insight about this beautiful region and its wildlife animals as possible.

Day 5: Transfer to Johannesburg via the Panorama Route

Today you will leave the comfortable yet affordable Safari Camp, heading back to Johannesburg via the scenic Panoramic Route. We travel through one of the most scenic parts of South Africa stopping to admire the stunning views at Gods Window, Lisbon Falls and Graskop, passing through beautiful mountainous areas and small towns.

We arrive back in bustling Johannesburg at around 5:30pm bringing this Kruger & Sabi Sand Safari in sunny South Africa to a close.

Nestled in the shade of tall indigenous trees, nature's elements combine inspiringly at this oasis-like camp to create a magnificent African safari setting. The camp is intimate and comfortable, yet simplistic and earthy. 

The exclusive camp shares its borders with the world renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve forming part of the Greater Kruger Park, bordering the Kruger Park.

This camp has a traditional African Safari atmosphere transporting you back in time to an untamed and wild Africa, staying in unique permanent semi luxury tented rooms. The authentic safari camp serves as an ideal base from which to experience the magnificent wildlife in both Sabi Sand Reserve and Kruger National Park.

About the Safari Accommodation

The safari camp features six chic African-styled tented rooms set on raised platforms to create the perfect ambiance for your safari stay in South Africa.

These tented rooms offer privacy and comfort in true African Safari style, featuring en suite bathrooms fitted with a shower and air-conditioning. The tented rooms are fitted with twin beds and include linen and African design bedspreads, side table with a lampshade and comfortable chairs. The rooms also come complete with mosquito nets, a mirror stand with hairdryer, luggage stands and plug points as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

Daily safari drives offer exhilarating game viewing opportunities in South Africa's top wildlife areas. Relax and refresh your soul and senses in the wilds of the African bush while searching for Africa's iconic Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino) and other fascinating wildlife.

Each morning your safari guide will wake you before first light to embark on your thrilling safari drive in the unspoilt bush. The African wilderness is already alive, the air filled with birdsong as the rising sunlight shimmers off beads of dew on spiders' webs.

As the day cools down, on your afternoon safari drive you will see the inhabitants of the bush venturing out from the shade of the trees in search water. Watch in awe as the sky changes to vibrant reds, golds and oranges, typical of an African sunset, majestically reflecting off rivers, natural waterholes and meandering streams.

About the Transport on Safari

We offer a personal collection and drop off service from anywhere in the Johannesburg, Pretoria or Nelspruit region of South Africa to and from the Safari Camp bordering Sabi Sands.

Our specially selected vehicle fleet that seats either 4 or 6 passengers only, will ensure that the journey to the Safari Camp is a more personal and comfortable experience. The vehicles are not mini buses, nor are they big overland trucks, providing you with generous leg room and no maximum restrictions on luggage.

Safari drives are conducted in open game viewing vehicles, which provide panoramic views when we encounter animals on drives, as well as allowing you to get an insight into the sounds and smells of the African wilderness. The vehicles have quick release windows and doors for your comfort when the unpredictable African weather provides us with an unexpected thunderstorm. For your convenience, if you would prefer to do safari drives in an air-conditioned, closed vehicle, we will be more than happy to accommodate you.
