Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1 – 3: Kwando Private Concession (Kwando-Linyanti Region) – Botswana

Your 10-Day Ultimate Botswana Fly-In Safari begins with your arrival at Maun Airport, where you are greeted before taking a light-aircraft flight to the Kwando Private Concession in the Kwando-Linyanti region of northern Botswana. Shaped by the permanently flowing Kwando and Linyanti river systems, this is a highly diverse landscape renowned for its vast elephant and buffalo herds. The region also supports an impressive predator population, including lion, leopard, cheetah, and several packs of the critically endangered African wild dog.

You have a choice of Lagoon and Lebala Camps, the only two safari camps located in the Kwando Private Concession. Lagoon Camp lies on a vital elephant migration corridor and is celebrated for its reliable predator encounters amid lush wetlands. Your time here is a perfect balance of thrilling wildlife encounters and relaxed riverfront downtime.

Lebala Camp’s promises wide-open floodplains and endless skies. This area is prime territory for high-adrenaline predator encounters, particularly the fast-paced action of African wild dogs and cheetahs, alongside elephants, sable antelope, lions, leopards and hyenas. Days are spent in a familiar routine of morning and afternoon game drives or walking safaris for immersive wildlife experiences. Between activities, time is left deliberately unhurried to unwind, enjoy plentiful meals, cool off in the pool, and soak up the classic, no-nonsense safari atmosphere.

  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Accommodation: Lagoon Camp or Lebala Camp – fully inclusive
  • Included Activities: Game drives (incl. night drives & off-road tracking), walking safaris. Lagoon Camp: Seasonal boating & fishing (during flood season Apr-Nov).
  • Optional Activities: Private Guides, Private Vehicles and Scenic Flights (helicopter and fixed wing)

About Lagoon Camp

Lagoon Camp is set on the banks of the Kwando River, tucked into an ancient riverine forest, where permanent waterways, seasonal floodplains and hidden lagoons draw vast herds of elephant and buffalo, and the predators that follow. Eight elegant tented suites are elevated and thoughtfully designed with private viewing decks, generous lounge areas, and en-suite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor showers and classic ball-and-claw bathtubs. The open-sided, thatched central area has a relaxed flow between the dining room, lounge and bar, with a library and small safari shop, a riverfront firepit, raised viewing deck, swimming pool, and a romantic swing overlooking the water.

About Lebala Camp

Lebala Camp is named after the Setswana word meaning “wide open space”, describing the sweeping floodplains in the southern reaches of the Kwando Private Concession. Built on stilts above the fluctuating swamps of the Kwando River, the camp has an unfussy, comfortable, and distinctly homely atmosphere. Guest tented rooms are strung along a shady leadwood island on raised wooden platforms, offering privacy, panoramic views, and mesh windows that invite cooling breezes and the sounds of the bush. They are ensuite with indoor and outdoor showers. The central area includes relaxed dining, lounge and bar spaces beneath a thatched roof, with a raised viewing deck and hide overlooking the marsh and Lebala Channel, a firepit, swimming pool, and small safari shop.

Day 4 – 6: Kwara Private Concession (Okavango Delta) – Botswana

After breakfast on day 4, your Ultimate Botswana Fly-in Safari heads back to the airstrip to catch a light aircraft flight to your next camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Spend three nights at either Splash Camp or 4 Rivers Camp, both located within the exclusive Kwara Private Concession, a pristine wildlife area in the northern Okavango Delta. Diverse habitats of wetland and grassland offer excellent year-round game viewing, with standout sightings of predators such as lions, leopards, wild dogs, and cheetahs.

Days are shaped by wildlife activity and water levels, with a mix of game drives, walking safaris, mokoro excursions (seasonal), and night drives. This private concession allows off-road tracking, offering exceptional predator sightings and a more immersive Delta experience. Between activities, relax at camp and immerse yourself in the serene delta life unfolding around you.

  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Accommodation: Splash Camp or 4 Rivers Camp – fully inclusive
  • Included Activities: Day game drives, night drives, off-road tracking, walking safaris, mokoro excursions (seasonal at 4 Rivers). Splash camp only: Boating, seasonal fishing & Godikwe Heronry visit (best from Sep to Dec)
  • Optional Activities: Private guide, private vehicle, scenic helicopter or fixed-wing flights over the delta

About Splash Camp

Splash Camp is a contemporary, family-friendly Delta camp overlooking permanent water and a productive waterhole, and sharing a water boundary with the legendary Moremi Game Reserve. Relax in open-plan guest areas (including lounge, small reference library and bar areas), around the swimming pool or firepit. The camp offers spacious tents with private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. Pace your day with a selection of safari activities on land and water. Mokoro safaris are available all year. Visit the Godikwe Heronry, an incredible waterbird breeding site (seasonal), or try your hand at seasonal fishing.

About 4 Rivers Camp

4 Rivers Camp offers a more classic safari atmosphere, set beside the permanent Tsum Tsum Channel in a rarely explored western section of the Kwara Private concession. There is a swimming pool, while wall-less communal areas, including a lounge and reference library, and a water-level firepit, look out over the water. You are guaranteed an intimate, wilderness-focused experience, including nature walks to explore Maboa Island, night drives, and mokoro excursions (not available in the dry months Oct-Dec). Stay in spacious en-suite tents with indoor and outdoor showers, and a private viewing deck with outside seating.

Day 7 – 9: Nxai Pan National Park (Makgadigadi Pans) or Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Botswana

After breakfast, your Ultimate Botswana Fly-in safari shifts from the waterways of the Okavango Delta and Kwando-Linyati to the stark beauty of the desert, with a light-aircraft flight to either Nxai Pan National Park or the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

In Nxai Pan, experience the vast spaces of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, the crusty remnants of a vast ancient lake, transforming dramatically after the rains when it plays host to the zebra migration (Dec-Mar). Visit the iconic Baines’ Baobabs and explore the landscape on guided walks with Bushmen trackers. Tau Pan of the Central Kalahari Desert features vast desert drives and walks in the ancestral homeland of the Bushmen, including the legendary Deception Valley.

In both regions, days combine game drives focused on desert-adapted wildlife with immersive nature walks led by bushman trackers. Between activities, enjoy relaxed time at camp, with hearty meals, cooling off in the swimming pools, and take in the sweeping desert views from the viewing decks.

  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Accommodation: Nxai Pan Camp or Tau Pan Camp – fully inclusive
  • Included Activities: Game drives, Bushman walks. Nxai: Baines Baobabs visit & Zebra migration (Dec-Mar). Tau: Deception Valley visit.
  • Optional Activities: Private Guides, Private Vehicles and Scenic Flights (helicopter and fixed wing)

About Nxai Pan – Makgadigadi Pans

Nxai Pan Camp lies in Nxai Pan National Park, part of the surreal Makgadikgadi Salt Pan network, where gemsbok, springbok, and desert-adapted elephants pass in steady procession to the waterholes. With the rains, the landscape transforms into lush grasslands alive with thousands of zebras and the predators that follow. The camp features an airy, open-plan communal area with dining, lounge, bar, and safari shop, and a firepit, raised viewing deck, and swimming pool overlooking the waterhole. Eight tented suites feature private decks, spacious lounges, and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
