Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia

Your 4x4 Ethiopia Trip begins in Addis Ababa, where you'll be met at Bole International Airport.

After transfer to your comfortable 4-star hotel in Ethiopia's capital city, you'll have time to rest and refresh. Time permitting, embark on a guided city tour of Addis Ababa, one of Africa's major diplomatic hubs. Experience the rich cultural heritage of Ethiopia as you visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the National Museum, home to the famous hominid fossil remains of Lucy.

Day 2: Fly to Semera & Trek to Erta Ale – Danakil Depression

Your Danakil Depression tour adventure begins with an early morning flight to Semera, capital of the Afar Region.

From here, our 4x4 expedition traverses one of Africa's most challenging terrains to reach Dodom village at the base of Erta Ale volcano. This 80km journey through the remote Afar Triangle takes approximately 6 hours, crossing the geological wonder of the Great East African Rift Valley – considered by many paleontologists to be the cradle of human evolution.

After dinner in Dodom, we begin our trek to Erta Ale, supported by local camels carrying our camping equipment. This three-hour hike leads to one of the world's most active volcanoes, home to one of the five permanent lava lakes on Earth. As darkness falls, witness the spectacular molten lake illuminating the night sky – a rare phenomenon that few travelers ever experience

Day 3: Drive to Lake Afdera – Danakil Depression
