Day 1: Johannesburg to Greater Kruger Area – South Africa

This serene location is just outside the bustling tourist hub of Hoedspruit, providing convenient access to the Orpen Gate of Kruger National Park and the stunning Blyde River Canyon, a highlight along the famous Panorama Route. On the second day of our Kruger Treehouse Safari, we wake up early for an action-packed full-day safari in Kruger National Park. After savouring a quick coffee at our treehouse lodge, we climb aboard an open-sided safari vehicle and set off toward the park’s Orpen Gate.

Today is dedicated to immersing ourselves in the wonders of one of South Africa’s premier national parks. Accompanied by our expert guide, we’ll embark on a thrilling 4x4 safari in search of the legendary Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and African buffalo, as well as a wealth of vibrant bird species that call Kruger home.

We’ll pause at a scenic rest area to enjoy a packed breakfast provided by the lodge. After recharging, we dive deeper into the wild African bush, where our guide shares fascinating insights about the diverse ecosystems and habitats we encounter.

At lunchtime, we’ll stop at one of the park’s rest camps, allowing you to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch (at your own expense). You can also browse local curios or find a shady spot to relax. After our midday respite, we’ll set out once more for an afternoon game drive, keeping our eyes peeled for a variety of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Our guide will make sure we stop at notable sightings, giving you ample opportunities to capture stunning photos.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, we’ll wrap up our game drive at one of the park's gates and make our way back to the enchanting treehouse lodge nestled in the private game reserve.
