Day 1: Johannesburg to Clarens & Hlotse - Lesotho

Your private Lesotho tour departs Johannesburg, South Africa, early this morning. Travel towards the Free State town of Harrismith, where you transfer to a 4x4 vehicle to continue your journey into the mountainous landscapes of Lesotho. Stop in the charming town of Clarens for refreshments before crossing into Lesotho through the Caledonspoort Border Post.

Time and weather permitting, visit a fascinating dinosaur footprint site before arriving in Hlotse for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Thaba Bosiu, Roma & Semonkong - Lesotho

After breakfast, your private Lesotho Tour visits the Leribe Craft Market, where local women weave traditional mohair products by hand. Continue to historic Thaba Bosiu, the mountain stronghold of King Moshoeshoe I, where you explore the cultural village and museum.

Travel through Roma, home to Lesotho’s university community, and enjoy lunch from a local vendor. Journey through Lesotho’s scenic lowlands and mountain roads to the remote village of Semonkong. Here, you experience a traditional Basotho blanket presentation, often considered one of the highlights of the tour. Learn the history, symbolism, and proper wearing of the iconic wool blankets that define the Basotho nation. Spend the night surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and local village life at the unique Semonkong Lodge.

After taking in the incredible mountain views, depart Semonkong with a packed lunch and travel to Moshoeshoe I International Airport in Maseru, the Kingdom's capital, for your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg.
