Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1: Cape Town to Hermanus – South Africa

We bid farewell to Cape Town in the morning and begin our private Garden Route & Addo Safari tour along the breathtaking coast. Betties Bay is our first destination, giving us a chance to observe a group of African penguins in their natural habitat. This is an opportunity you certainly won't want to miss. From there, we journey onward to Hermanus, offering up beautiful ocean views as far as the eye can see.

When we arrive in Hermanus' charming harbor, you'll be able to explore its many fun activities—or simply relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere while looking for Southern Right Whales. Of course, if you'd rather take a stroll by the seaside and sample treats from one of the local restaurants or markets, that's perfectly fine too. All these experiences will surely combine to make this journey along South Africa's gorgeous coastline one that you'll never forget.

  • Included Meals: None
  • Included Activities: Visit to the African Penguin Colony at Betties Bay
  • Optional Activities: Whale watching boat trip (in season, July–November; must be pre-booked)

After a scenic drive through the Overberg, we enter the Garden Route, a much-loved destination known for its forests, beaches, and pretty towns. A great way to spend the afternoon is to enjoy one of the magical seascapes of Mossel Bay or Wilderness, both beautifully picturesque in their own right.

If you’re feeling adventurous, why not explore Wilderness National Park in a canoe? Alternatively, we can take a detour and visit the Southernmost Tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas. It may be longer than anticipated (1.25 hours of additional driving), but it will certainly make for a memorable experience.

  • Included Meals: Breakfast
  • Optional Activities: Canoeing and hiking in Wilderness National Park, Visiting the Southernmost Tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas
