Join us for the road trip of a lifetime on this private Garden Route Tour of South Africa!
This South African tour provides a safe, easy, and affordable way to explore the Western Cape and Route 62. The budget Garden Route Tour of South Africa offers a great mix of unspoiled nature, culture, and adventure. This affordable South Africa Tour starts and ends in Cape Town and Stellenbosch, departing any day of the year as a Private Garden Route Tour.
This budget-friendly Garden Route Tour of South Africa starts and ends in the Mother City of Cape Town. Our adventure starts when we leave Cape Town and set our sites on Mossel Bay, a town known as the landing site of the first European mariners around the southern tip of Africa.
We spend some time on Mossel Bay’s spectacular beaches, hike the Cape Saint Blaize trail along the seaside cliffs, and, for the thrill-seekers, there’s a chance to do ocean ziplining or paragliding. Alternatively, we can go straight through to Wilderness, to check into our seaside accommodation for the evening.
On the second day of our adventure, we explore Knysna, a beloved seaside town at the heart of South Africa's Garden Route, boasting stunning scenery. Along its coast lies an indigenous forest, the Outeniqua Mountains, and most notably, the Knysna Lagoon - a warm-water estuary providing fantastic exploration and relaxation opportunities. After taking in the wonders of this beautiful place, you have the option to enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon.
On day three of our South Africa Tour of the Garden Route, we continue along the coastal highway to Tsitsikamma National Park.
Along the way, we stop at the 216-meter-high Bloukrans Bridge where the brave can take on the world’s highest bungee jump! This afternoon we explore Tsitsikamma National Park known for its breathtaking coastline and indigenous forests. Activities that are available include hiking the beautiful indigenous forest trails, going on the Keurbooms River Ferry, and visiting the Luka Vineyards.
On the last day of our Private South Africa Safari, we travel back to Cape Town via Route 62. We travel over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass and into the Klein Karoo. Here we visit Oudtshoorn, a treasure of the Klein Karoo with the title of the Ostrich Capital of the World. In Oudtshoorn, we can experience firsthand its small-town charm and its wide array of ostrich by-products that make this region so special.
After a long scenic drive, we arrive back in Cape Town in the early evening, bringing our Garden Route Tour to a close.
