Day 1: Johannesburg to Pilanesberg Safari - South Africa

At the start of this Pilanesberg National Park Safari, guests will be transferred from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg in the morning. After exploring the game reserve in our enclosed transfer vehicle for a few hours, we will check in at Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge.

Following a light lunch and some relaxation time, we embark on a late-afternoon game drive in the reserve with a trained ranger in an open safari vehicle. At sunset, we return to the family-friendly lodge for a delicious dinner at the restaurant.

Day 2: Pilanesberg to Johannesburg - South Africa

We have an early start on day two of our Big 5 Pilanesberg Safari. Start with a refreshing tea or coffee before going on a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg National Park. As you explore the bush in the lodges' 20 seater open-sided safari vehicle, your professional guide tells you more about the wildlife, plants, birds, and habitats found here.

We return to the luxurious lodge for a hearty breakfast; pack up and get ready to check out by 11:30 am and spend the rest of the morning relaxing at the lodges' fantastic facilities—lounge by the pool, book a spa treatment, or enjoy lunch (at own expense).

The standard shared shuttle transfer collects guests between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM for the return journey to Johannesburg, with drop-off between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

For added flexibility or more safari time, you may choose one of the following options at additional cost:

Private transfer back to Johannesburg, departing at a time that suits you.
Additional 3-hour open-vehicle game drive (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM) conducted in a 10-seater open safari vehicle, with lunch included—a perfect way to extend your wildlife experience before heading home.

Transfers on this Pilanesberg National Park Safari are conducted in an air-conditioned minibus (Quantum). Transfers to and from the family lodge are in a shared vehicle for 2 to 12 people. You will be collected and dropped off at your accommodation in these enclosed tour vehicles at the start and end of your safari.

During your stay at the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park, your game drives are conducted in either an open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle or an open 20-seater safari vehicle.
