Day 1: Etosha National Park – Namibia

Travel Highlight:

Your 10-Day Namibia Tribes Camping Safari begins with an early collection from your Windhoek accommodation, followed by a short pre-departure meeting. Traveling north, pass through Otjiwarongo village to pick up supplies and enjoy a picnic lunch along the way.

Once entering Etosha National Park, enjoy a game drive spotting the park's diverse wildlife. Etosha National Park is dominated by a salt pan, so vast that it is visible from space. It is home to abundant wildlife, often encountered at the waterholes dotting the dry terrain. Thirsty animals, from elephants, black rhinos, lions, and giraffes, are drawn to the waters, and flamingos arrive after the rains.

After setting up camp at Halali Rest Camp, dinner will be prepared over the campfire. Enjoy evening visits to the rest camp's floodlit waterhole, often frequented by elephants, black rhinos, and many other species.

Day 2 & 3: Ongula Village, Ovamboland – Namibia

After breakfast, continue game driving through Etosha, stopping at the vast Etosha Pan before exiting via King Nehala Gate. Next, your Namibia Camping Safari journeys into Ovamboland, enjoying a picnic lunch en route. In the afternoon, arrive at Ongula Village, where you’ll set up camp and enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by the community, offering a warm introduction to the region’s culture.

On the morning of Day 3, a lodge guide will introduce you to the daily life, customs, and traditions of the Ovambo people during a homestead tour, with visits to local homes and community interactions. After lunch, optional activities include clay pot making, farming demonstrations, a dance and drum experience, or a donkey cart ride. Dinner will be prepared over the campfire by your guide.

Day 4 & 5: Ruacana Waterfalls & Epupa Falls – Namibia

After breakfast, your Namibia Tribes Camping Safari continues north to the Kunene River and heads west, stopping at Ruacana Falls and Namibia’s largest hydroelectric power station before continuing along the rugged riverbanks. Upon arrival at our campsite near Epupa Falls, set up camp and enjoy a short hike to a scenic lookout for sunset views. A campfire dinner rounds off the day.

After breakfast on Day 5, visit a Himba village for an in-depth cultural experience, learning about the traditional lifestyle and resilience of these incredible people. Return to camp for lunch before choosing an optional afternoon activity: a guided Kunene River walk for birdwatching or river rafting for adventure. The evening ends with dinner around the campfire.

Day 6: Koakoland & Ongongo Waterfall – Namibia

Your Botswana Camping Safari departs the Epupa Falls after breakfast. Head south through the vast spaces of Kaokoland, stopping in the town of Opuwo, the region’s busy hub, to restock supplies. Continue to our next campsite at Ongongo Waterfall, set in a hidden canyon with naturally warm pools. The afternoon is free to swim, relax, and enjoy this magical setting before dinner by the waterfall.

Day 7 & 8: Damaraland & Twyfelfontein – Namibia

After a possible early swim at Ongongo, break camp and journey from Kaokoland into Namibia's Damaraland region. By lunchtime, you’ll reach Twyfelfontein UNESCO World Heritage Site, where a local guide will lead you through one of Africa’s largest concentrations of ancient rock petroglyphs, dating back 6,000 years. Afterward, continue to the campsite that will be our base for the next two nights, where dinner will be prepared over the fire.

Start early on Day 7 for a quick breakfast before heading off for the Elephant Tracking Excursion. This 6–8 hour adventure follows the desert-adapted elephants of Damaraland, offering the chance to learn tracking skills and witness these extraordinary creatures so well adapted to their rugged habitat. Return to camp in the afternoon to enjoy a meal prepared by your guide, followed by relaxation and a stunning sunset.

Return to camp for your last group dinner and an evening around the campfire.

Day 10: Windhoek – Namibia
