A fully inclusive Adventure Safari of South Africa's Garden Route. This Safari offers it all to the adventure seeker. Partake in the wide variety of activities on offer. These include bungy jumping from the world's highest bungy jump, diving with great white sharks off Gaansbaai, sky diving, sandboarding to name a few.
This Safari will appeal not only to the adrenalin junky but to travellers who wish to experience some of the most majestic scenery available in South Africa. The Safari includes most of the top highlights on offer in the Garden Route and will visit some beautiful towns along the way which give the Garden Route its distinct flavour.
Join us on a 6 day Adventure mission to this magnificent part of the world.
We depart from Cape Town in the early morning heading for the small town of Calitzdorp which is located on the beautiful Route 62, South Africa's longest wine route. We will enjoy a light lunch at Barrydale and then make a stop off at Die Krans winery where we will sample the local wines and port on offer.
We will then head to the Cango Wildlife Ranch where you will have the opportunity to see the endangered cheetah, crocodiles and other animals. One of the highlights will be touching and having your photo taken with a cheetah. Our overnight stop will be the town of Oudtshoorn.
Optional Activities:
In the morning we will head off to the Cango Caves for an underground tour of the Caves. From here we will visit the Cango Ostrich show farm for a guided tour of a working ostrich farm. If you are feeling adventurous you can choose to ride an ostrich (maximum weight of 75 kg). We will enjoy lunch and in the in the afternoon we will continue of journey with a drive over the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and on to the Wilderness National park where we will partake in a canoe ride through indigenous forest that boasts over 200 species of birds. (This activity is weather Dependant). We will overnight in Wilderness.
We will wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading on to the Tsitsikamma National Park. En route we will drive through the beautiful lake district of the Garden Route and stop off at the Bloukrans Bridge to view the world's highest bungee jump (216 metres). We will have plenty of time for those thrill seekers amongst us to test their courage! We will spend the afternoon in the Tsitsikamma National Park with its stunning indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean that laps on its shores. There will be a wide choice of activities to partake in including long and short hikes, crossing the suspension bridge and swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. We will overnight in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay.
Optional Activities:
You will wake up and spend the morning in Plettenberg Bay at your own leisure. You can go to Lookout Beach in Plettenberg Bay or explore the town.
Optional Activities:
We will then continue our journey to Mossel Bay with a short stopover in Knysna where you can see the Knysna Heads and lagoon, or you can explore the waterfront and unique shops of the town. We then move on to Mossel Bay for a Big 5 game drive and dinner at a game lodge. Our overnight stop will be in Mossel Bay.
In the morning we will have plenty of time to explore Mossel Bay Town and visit the Diaz museum complex and the Post Office Tree.
Optional Activities:
In the early afternoon we will visit the Aloe Ferrox factory shop at Albertinia where we will learn about the health and beauty enhancing qualities of the Aloe plant. We will then continue on to Cape Agulhas the most Southern Tip of Africa. (Whale watching in season.)
We will overnight in Cape Agulhas Backpackers Lodge in Struisbaai.
Optional Activities:
We will leave our accommodation in the early morning and head off to the coastal town of Hermanus for some whale and dolphin watching (seasonal). We will enjoy lunch and do some last minute shopping. If you would like to dive with the Great White Sharks of the area this is possible and will be arranged by your guide. In the afternoon we will drive the scenic coastal road back to Cape Town stopping one last time at Betty's Bay at the African penguin colony to view these unique birds.
Optional Activities:
Clients doing the Shark Cage Diving will be leaving the tour in Gaansbaai and will be transferred back to Cape Town by the Shark Diving Operator.
