Find Out More Here!Exclusive Overlanding is an overland tour done with a little more style and comfort thrown in to the mix. Generally speaking Exclusive Overland Safaris appeal to the more seasoned traveller looking for a more intimate Overlanding Safari experience.
Exclusive Overlanding Safaris have the following extra's that ensure they stand above your tranditional overland safari.
A good percentage of the tours involve a mix of fixed accommodation and camping along the journey. This ensures that extra degree of comfort in terms of accommodation. For the fixed accommodation we make use of facilities that are usually 2-3 star in quality. These are usually lodges, hotels, bungalows and permanant tented villages.
For the camping nights we make use of canvas two-man, walk-in dome tents that are spacious, comfortable and well-ventilated. When camping, a canvas mattress is usualy provided. You will be expected on most tours to bring along your own sleeping bag. If you would prefer to hire a sleeping bag for the duration of the Safari, this is usualy available at a minimal fee.
Most tours will have 2 staff members on hand who are there to assist you throughout the Safari. Having 2 staff on board reduces the amount of participation required by you the client.
At least one of the Staff members will be a Registered Guide and not a tour leader. They often work on a permanent basis for the company. Most are qualified, full-time professionals, registered with the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa and South African Tourism. This ensures that the Guides can provide you with an informative, safe and enjoyable experience whatever your choice of safari.
The other staff member is usually a cook who will ensure you a hearty meal along the way. Being on an Exclusive Overlanding Safari means the budget for food is higher, so the quality of food is generally superior to regular Overland Safaris.
Exclusive Overlanding also means smaller groups and better equipped vehicles that allow you go further off the beaten track than regular Overland Safaris. Group size is restricted to a maximum of 16 passengers which ensures you more one-on-one time with the Guide. A smaller group also means the pack up time on the mornings we travel is quicker and more expediant that allows for less time having to be spent in the vehicle between destinations.
It is important to note that more activities are included in the price for Exclusive Overlanding as opposed to regular Overland Safaris where these activities are optional add-ons for your own account. When you do the calculations of what is included in an Exclusive Overland against what is included in a Traditional Overland Safari the price difference is often not that great.
