In the morning, we transport guests from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg National Park. Upon arrival, we explore the Big 5 game reserve in our enclosed vehicle for a few hours. Later, we check into Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge and enjoy a light lunch and some time to relax. In the late afternoon, guests embark on a 4x4 game drive in an open safari vehicle with a qualified ranger. After dusk, we return to the luxurious lodge for a delicious dinner in the restaurant.
This morning, we enjoy some hot beverages before embarking on a 3-hour sunrise game drive in a safari vehicle with a professional ranger in the Pilanesberg National Park. Afterward, we return to the resort, where visitors can participate in many Kwa Maritane Bush Resort activities. Visitors can visit the reserve's wildlife center or Predator's World, go on a guided bush walk, or participate in a game-tracking activity, for an additional fee. Later in the day, we embark on a second 4x4 game drive and end the day with dinner at the lodge restaurant.
Before we start our morning game drive in Pilanesberg National Park, we enjoy hot beverages at the lodge. After our final 4x4 game drive, a delicious breakfast awaits visitors. Then, between 11h30 and 12h00, we set off on a closed-vehicle game drive. After one last chance to spot wildlife, we depart for Johannesburg at about 15h00.
Located near Rustenburg in South Africa's North West Province is the Pilanesberg National Park, a wildlife reserve in an extinct volcano. Established in the 1970s, the park has a diverse terrain with rocky outcrops, vast grasslands, wooded valleys, and a large lake. Visitors can explore the park's bird hides to capture photos of the over 360 unique bird species found in the park. The park is home to the Big Five - lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalos - and other animals such as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and multiple antelope species.
Pilanesberg National Park is a popular tourist destination that attracts local and international visitors due to its convenient location near Johannesburg and Pretoria. Between 05:30 and 07:00 am, we provide a quick pickup service from any hotel or address in Johannesburg or central Pretoria. Starting at 17:30 pm, drop-offs can be scheduled at any hotel or residence in Johannesburg or central Pretoria.
Transfers on this Pilanesberg Safari are conducted in an air-conditioned minibus (Quantum). The transfers to the lodge and back, are in a shared transfer vehicle with 2 to 12 people. You will be collected and dropped off at your accommodation in these enclosed tour vehicles at the start and end of your safari.
During your stay at the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park, your game drives are conducted in either an open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle or an open 20-seater safari vehicle.
During your Big 5 safari experience in the Pilanesberg National Park, you stay at the 4-star Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge. They have comfortable rooms suitable for families with young children and modern amenities.
On your luxury Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge Safari, you can savor traditional South African cuisine that's been carefully chosen and skillfully cooked. The safari deal includes two breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
During your 3-day Pilanesberg Safari, you can participate in extra activities at extra cost. You can participate in several activities at the reserve, such as a guided bush walk, game tracking, or a visit to the wildlife center or Predator's World. Keep in mind that choosing any of these options will mean missing out on one of the game drives due to time constraints. Also, note that a minimum of two clients is required to book optional activities.
