Guests will be picked up early in Johannesburg and driven about 168 kilometers to Pilanesberg National Park. After exploring the Big 5 game reserve in the air-conditioned tour vehicle for a few hours, guests check in at the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge. Enjoy a light lunch and relax at the 4-star lodge before embarking on a late-afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the African wilderness and wildlife before returning to the lodge for a delicious dinner in the restaurant as the sun sets.
We start the day with hot beverages before embarking on a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg National Park with a professional ranger. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, guests can enjoy various optional activities offered by Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge, such as a guided bush walk or a game tracking activity, or visit the reserve’s wildlife center or Predator’s World (additional costs apply). Alternatively, you can enjoy the modern amenities of the lodge, unwind at the pool, watch wildlife at the waterhole, and take a siesta in your comfortable room.
In the late afternoon, guests can join another 4x4 game drive before enjoying dinner at the lodge restaurant.
Start day three of your Pilanesberg Safari with a hot beverage before embarking on a 3-hour dawn game drive with a trained ranger in Pilanesberg National Park. After an action-packed game drive return to the lodge for breakfast.
Then you are free to relax at the lodge or choose from various optional activities at Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge (at extra cost). Pamper yourself with spa treatments, or join a guided bush walk or a game-tracking adventure. Alternatively, you can visit the reserve's wildlife center or Predator's World. Embark on another Big 5 game drive in the late afternoon, followed by a tasty dinner at the lodge restaurant.
We wake up early for hot beverages and embark on a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the reserve. Your guide takes you in search of any animals you may have missed so far and tells you more about the local flora and fauna as you explore.
Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and pack up for departure at around 11h30 for 12h00. Take a game drive on your way out of Pilanesberg National Park in the enclosed tour vehicle (minivan). In the mid-afternoon leave the reserve for the return journey to Johannesburg where this excellent-value Pilanesberg Safari ends.

This Pilanesberg Safari includes a pick-up service between 05h30 and 07h00 from any hotel or address in Johannesburg or central Pretoria. At the end of your tour, you are dropped off at any hotel or residence in Johannesburg or central Pretoria, from around 17h30.
Transfers on this Pilanesberg Safari are conducted in an air-conditioned minibus (Quantum). The transfers to the lodge and back, are in a shared transfer vehicle with 2 to 12 people. You will be collected and dropped off at your accommodation in these enclosed tour vehicles at the start and end of your safari.
During your stay at the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park, your game drives are conducted in either an open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle or an open 20-seater safari vehicle.
