This fully inclusive 7-day safari links Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta, two of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife regions. Scenic light-aircraft transfers between camps minimise travel time and maximise your time on safari.
Begin with three nights at Chobe Safari Lodge on the Chobe River, renowned for its vast elephant herds and unforgettable river boat safaris. Then fly into the Okavango Delta to stay at a remote camp in a private concession, where game drives, guided walks and seasonal mokoro excursions reveal the Delta’s extraordinary wildlife.
This classic Botswana safari is ideal for travellers seeking a seamless journey from Chobe’s dramatic riverfront wildlife to the pristine floodplains and lagoons of the Okavango Delta.
Your 7-Day Botswana Safari: Chobe & Okavango Delta Itinerary begins on your arrival at Kasane Airport. Here you are greeted and enjoy a short road transfer to Chobe Safari Lodge, set on the banks of the Chobe River.
Over the next three days, explore one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich regions with morning and afternoon game drives into Chobe National Park and unforgettable boat safaris directly from the lodge, in search of the animals, large and small, gathered along the banks of the mighty Chobe River. Take a day trip to Victoria Falls for a change of pace, while afternoons can be spent relaxing by the pool, visiting the spa, or enjoying serene sundowners overlooking the river.
Established in 1959, Botswana’s original safari lodge, Chobe Safari Lodge, combines history with modern comfort on well-placed and expansive riverfront grounds. Wildlife such as bushbuck, warthogs, hippo, and over 100 bird species roam the property, while Chobe National Park — home to the world’s largest elephant population — lies right next door. The lodge offers multiple indoor and outdoor dining venues, two pools, bars, a spa, a curio shop and the informative Elephant Centre, allowing guests to set their own pace. Stay in beautifully spacious, en-suite rooms spread across the property to create a relaxed, uncrowded feel. High Tea is served each afternoon at the Pavilion, while the lodge boasts its own jetty for boat safaris, with the secluded riverside Sedudu bar alongside.
After breakfast on day 4, your Botswana Safari enjoys a quick transfer back to Kasane Airport to catch your light aircraft flight into the heart of the magnificent Okavango Delta.
Your safari now shifts from the Chobe River to the Okavango Delta, linking two of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife regions in one seamless itinerary.
Spend three nights at either Splash Camp or 4 Rivers Camp, both located within the exclusive Kwara Private Concession in the northern Okavango Delta, known for excellent predator sightings and diverse habitats.
Days are shaped by wildlife activity and water levels, with a mix of game drives, walking safaris, night drives, and seasonal mokoro excursions.
This private concession allows off-road tracking, offering exceptional predator sightings and a more immersive Delta experience. Between activities, relax at camp and immerse yourself in the serene delta life unfolding around you.
Splash Camp is a contemporary, family-friendly Delta camp overlooking permanent water and a productive waterhole, and sharing a water boundary with the legendary Moremi National Park. Relax in open-plan guest areas (including lounge, small reference library and bar areas), around the swimming pool or firepit. The camp runs on solar power and offers spacious en-suite tents with private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. Pace your day with a selection of safari activities on land and in the delta waterways. Mokoro safaris are available year-round. Visit the Godikwe Heronry, an incredible waterbird breeding site, or try your hand at seasonal fishing. Splash also offers a special bush activity program for children.
4 Rivers Camp offers a more classic safari atmosphere, set beside the permanent Tsum Tsum Channel in a rarely explored western section of the Kwara Private concession. There is a swimming pool, while wall-less communal areas, including a lounge and reference library, and a water-level firepit, look out over the water. You are guaranteed an intimate, wilderness-focused experience, including nature walks to explore Maboa Island, night drives, and mokoro excursions (not available in the dry months Oct-Dec). Stay in spacious en-suite tents with indoor and outdoor showers, and a private viewing deck with outside seating.
After a final hearty camp breakfast, enjoy your last game-viewing as you head to the airstrip to board your scheduled light aircraft flight to Maun. On your arrival in Maun, your 7-Day Botswana Safari: Chobe & Okavango Delta Itinerary comes to an end.
