It offers a fascinating blend of historic royal palaces, vibrant markets, scenic hilltop views, and a unique mix of French colonial architecture and rich Malagasy traditions.

The Andasibe region of Eastern Madagascar boasts remarkable biodiversity in dense rainforests. The humid climate creates a lush, misty atmosphere which is home to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, where visitors can experience Madagascar’s iconic wildlife, including the Indri lemur, chameleons, and rare bird species.

Check in at your forest lodge near the Andasibe National Park. As the sun begins to set, head out into the Andasibe forests for a night walk that will give you the opportunity to observe night active lemurs and the other fascinating nocturnal animals of the region.

Keep a lookout for the highly endangered Indri lemur (Indri indri), the largest of the lemur species and one of Madagascar's most iconic animals, known for its distinctive black-and-white coat and unique upright posture.

In the afternoon, head to the V.O.I.M.M.A community reserve. This reserve was established by local villagers with the goal of protecting their surrounding forests and the endemic species that live there.
