On the first day of this Botswana Private Safari, your guide collects you from your pre-tour accommodation in Maun. From Maun, your private guide drives you south to the remote Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
Days two and three of our Kalahari Camping Trip are dedicated to exploring this vast, untrammeled wilderness area in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana. One of the largest game reserves in the world, the Kalahari Game Reserve is the most remote game reserve in Southern Africa. After a morning tea and coffee at the mobile camp, you set off on 4x4 game drives in your private safari vehicle. Return to the safari camp for brunch and a rest before heading back out into the wilderness later in the afternoons.
The first three nights of this Botswana Private Safari are spent camping in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve of Botswana. The dedicated safari crew sets up your mobile safari camp and prepares your meals. You are not required to participate, which leaves you free to relax and enjoy the wild scenery.
Spend your evenings gathered around the campfire after dinner. Sit back under a canopy of stars and soak up the peace of the African bushveld, disturbed only by the cries of the wild. At the end of the day, retreat to the comfort of your spacious, en-suite dome tent fitted with beds, linen, and camping furniture.
On day four of our Botswana Private Safari, we make our way out of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, heading northeast to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Along the way we explore new sights and stop for a picnic lunch, reaching our next mobile safari camp before dark.
By the time you reach the mobile safari camp at the Makgadikgadi Pans, everything is set up already. Settle in and enjoy drinks and dinner around the flickering campfire.
We spend the next two days of our Botswana Safari in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Although our days follow a similar routine, no two days in the African bush are the same.
Day seven of our Botswana Private Safari sees us traveling north to Nxai Pan National Park. After breakfast, pack your bags and hop back on board the safari vehicle while the camp crew takes care of the rest.
The next few days of our Kalahari Camping Safari are set aside for exploring the Nxai Pans in northern Botswana.
In the evenings we tuck into hearty dinners prepared by the crew at our remote mobile safari camp. Enjoy laid-back nights around the campfire under the starry skies of the remote African wilderness before retiring to your comfortable en-suite tent.
Wake up to the unspoiled African bush one more time on the final day of our Botswana Safari. After an early morning coffee or tea and light snacks at our mobile safari camp in the secluded Nxai Pan area, we pack our bags and head west to Maun. En route, we stop for a picnic brunch and admire the giant old baobab trees along the road.
This afternoon our Botswana Kalahari Camping Safari comes to an end in Maun where you are dropped at your post-tour accommodation.
