Explore Botswana’s wild northern wilderness on this 8-day fly-in safari linking the remote Kwando–Linyanti region with the legendary Okavango Delta. Scenic light-aircraft flights connect three exceptional camps across some of the country’s most pristine and wildlife-rich landscapes.
Begin in the predator-rich Kwando–Linyanti region, staying at riverfront Lagoon Camp and the game-filled floodplains of Lebala Camp. Off-road game drives, night drives, walking safaris and seasonal boating reveal elephants, buffalo, lions, wild dogs and cheetahs in remarkable numbers.
Your safari then continues south into the pristine Kwara Private Concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, where diverse wetlands and grasslands deliver outstanding year-round game viewing, mokoro excursions and immersive safari activities.
Your 8-Day Kwando, Linyanti & Delta Fly-In Safari in Botswana begins on your arrival at Maun Airport, where you are greeted and ushered to your light-aircraft flight north to the Kwando-Linyanti region.
Kwando Private Concession lies along a vital elephant migration corridor and is celebrated for reliable predator encounters amid the lush waterways of the Kwando wetlands. Your time at Lagoon Camp is a perfect balance of thrilling wildlife encounters and relaxed riverfront downtime. Early mornings and late afternoons are spent on expertly guided game drives, tracking elephants, buffalo and the predators that the area is famed for. Alternatively, take a walking safari for a more intimate connection to the landscape. During the flood season, boating and fishing is also available. Between activities, head back to camp to unwind, enjoy hearty meals, cool off in the pool, and watch wildlife drift past from the viewing decks.
About Lagoon Camp
Lagoon Camp is set on the banks of the Kwando River, tucked into an ancient riverine forest, where permanent waterways, seasonal floodplains and hidden lagoons draw vast herds of elephant and buffalo, and the predators that follow. Eight elegant tented suites are elevated and thoughtfully designed with private viewing decks, generous lounge areas, and en-suite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor showers, and classic ball-and-claw bathtubs. The open-sided, thatched central area has a relaxed flow between the dining room, lounge and bar, with a library and small safari shop, a riverfront firepit, raised viewing deck, swimming pool, and a romantic swing overlooking the water.
After breakfast, your Botswana Safari takes a thrilling three-hour road transfer that doubles as a game drive to Lebala Camp in the southern reaches of the Kwando Private Concession. The route winds through game-rich landscapes before opening onto Lebala’s signature wide-open floodplains and endless skies. This area is prime territory for high-adrenaline predator encounters, particularly the fast-paced action of African wild dogs and cheetahs, alongside elephants, sable antelope, lions, leopards and hyenas.
Days are spent in the familiar routine of morning and afternoon game drives or walking safaris for immersive wildlife experiences. Between activities, time is left deliberately unhurried to relax at camp and soak up the classic, no-nonsense safari atmosphere that has long made Lebala a favourite with serious safari enthusiasts.
About Lebala Camp
Lebala Camp is named after the Setswana word meaning “wide open space”, describing the sweeping floodplains in the southern reaches of the Kwando Private Concession. Built on stilts above the fluctuating swamps of the Kwando River, the camp has an unfussy, comfortable, and distinctly homely atmosphere. Elegant tented rooms are strung along a shady leadwood island on raised wooden platforms, offering privacy, panoramic views, and mesh windows that invite cooling breezes and the sounds of the bush. They are ensuite with indoor and outdoor showers. The central area includes relaxed dining, lounge and bar spaces, and a small safari shop beneath a thatched roof. Outside is a firepit, swimming pool, and a raised viewing deck and hide overlooking the marsh and Lebala Channel.
After breakfast, your Okavango Delta Fly-in Safari heads to the airstrip to catch the next light aircraft flight south to your next camp. Spend three nights at either Splash Camp or 4 Rivers Camp, both located within the exclusive Kwara Private Concession, a pristine wildlife area in the northern Okavango Delta bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the heart of the Delta. Diverse wetland and grassland habitats offer excellent year-round game viewing, with standout sightings of predators such as lions, leopards, wild dogs, and cheetahs.
Days are shaped by wildlife activity and downtime, with a mix of more game drives, walking safaris, mokoro excursions (seasonal), and night drives. Off-road tracking offers exceptional predator sightings and a more immersive Delta experience. Between activities, relax at camp, soaking up the serene delta life unfolding around you.
Splash Camp is a contemporary, family-friendly Delta camp overlooking permanent water and a productive waterhole, and sharing a water boundary with the legendary Moremi Game Reserve. Relax in the open-plan guest areas, with a lounge, small reference library and bar areas, cool off at the swimming pool or end your day around the firepit. The camp runs on solar power and offers spacious tented suites with private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. Pace your day with a selection of safari activities on land and water. Mokoro safaris are available all year round. In season, visit the Godikwe Heronry, an incredible waterbird breeding site, or try your hand at seasonal fishing.
4 Rivers Camp offers a more classic safari atmosphere, set beside the permanent Tsum Tsum Channel in a rarely explored western section of the Kwara Private concession. There is a swimming pool, while open communal areas with dining, lounge and reference library, and a water-level firepit, look out over the water. You are guaranteed an intimate, wilderness-focused experience, including nature walks to explore Maboa Island, night drives, and mokoro excursions (not available in the dry months Oct-Dec). Stay in spacious en-suite tents with indoor and outdoor showers, and a private viewing deck with outside seating.
After a final camp breakfast and farewell game viewing en route to the airstrip, board your scheduled light-aircraft flight back to Maun, where your epic 8-Day Kwando, Linyanti & Delta Fly-In Safari in Botswana comes to an end.
