Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1 to 3: Maun to Khwai - Botswana

This 8-Day Khwai & Chobe, Botswana & Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe Fly-in Safari begins on arrival at Maun International Airport, where you will be met and transferred by helicopter to Mogotlho Safari Lodge, your home for the next three nights.

Set along the banks of the Khwai River, between the renowned Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, the lodge offers an authentic safari setting in one of Botswana’s richest wildlife regions. Elevated tented suites overlook the river, where hippos wallow in the water below, elephants regularly move between the channels, and predators roam the surrounding floodplains.

During our stay, guided game drives reveal the extraordinary diversity of the Khwai region. Large elephant herds, lion, leopard, and numerous antelope species are commonly seen, while the area is particularly well known for sightings of endangered African wild dogs. Birdlife is equally impressive, making this a rewarding destination for wildlife enthusiasts throughout the year.

Back at camp, the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. The main deck provides uninterrupted river views and excellent wildlife watching between activities, while meals are often enjoyed outdoors beneath the trees. As night falls, we gather around the fire to share stories, accompanied by the sounds of the surrounding bush.

  • Included Activity: Air Transfer, Game Drives
  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

About Mogotlho Safari Lodge, Khwai River

This Botswana & Victoria Falls Fly-in Safari stays at the Mogotlho Safari Lodge in the Khwai River area. Mogotlho offers an exclusive, off-grid retreat along the Khwai River, seamlessly blending luxury with nature. Bordering Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve, this eco-conscious tented camp provides breathtaking panoramic views and a prime location for wildlife sightings. Each of the 13 en-suite tents boasts unobstructed riverfront views, allowing guests to observe the ever-changing landscape from their private decks. The lodge offers a range of immersive safari experiences, including game drives and walking safaris, guided by passionate experts. After a day of exploration, unwind by the swimming pool or relax in the comfort of a king-size bed, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Days 4 & 5: Khwai to Kazuma Forest Reserve – Botswana

After breakfast on day four, we will be transferred to Khwai Airstrip for our flight to Kasane International Airport. On arrival, we continue by road to Camp Kuzuma, our safari retreat for the next two nights.

Situated within a private concession in the remote Kazuma Forest Reserve, the camp lies between Chobe National Park and Hwange National Park. Designed around a busy waterhole, the camp offers exceptional wildlife viewing directly from the main lodge, where elephants, giraffe, roan antelope, and other plains game gather throughout the day. With only a small number of tented suites, the atmosphere remains peaceful, intimate, and deeply connected to the surrounding wilderness.

Game drives through this lesser-visited region reveal a landscape shaped by seasonal wildlife movements, with large herds of elephant, zebra, and buffalo often travelling between Botswana and Zimbabwe. The private concession allows for a more exclusive safari experience, including off-road driving and fewer vehicles at sightings, creating excellent opportunities for rewarding wildlife encounters.

Back at camp, the pace is unhurried and personal. Spend time on the deck overlooking the waterhole, unwind with a spa treatment, or watch wildlife approach camp from only a few metres away. As the sun sets, sundowners beside the waterhole provide a memorable end to the day, often accompanied by herds of elephants arriving to drink at dusk.

  • Included Activities: Road Transfer, Game Drives
  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
